Holiday Hours

I've been doing my best to get a picture of each of our breeding cows. Most of the time they're more interested in getting that next bite of good grass than cooperating with me. Here's some of the shots that I managed to get this week. All of these except for TDA 3, TDA 20, and B4 are hopefully bred for Sept/Oct calving. These are our purebred cows, with the exception of Clover and her calves. We also have several Milking Devons, Angus x Devon crosses, and Purebred Angus cows for commercial production.

Walker Century Farms in Anderson, SC has been busy grazing our Red Devon beef cattle this summer. We've been blessed with plenty of rain this year as we continue with our regenerative grazing practices. By grazing cattle close, they are able to take a bite, distribute nutrients in the form of manure, urine, and saliva, trample the remaining forage into a rich green mulch, and move on before they do too much damage to the roots that provide such a lush nutritious forage.
