We’re not about bypassing around here!

In Chinese Medicine, suppressed emotions are a common cause of disease. The main emotions in TCM are anger, joy, worry, grief and fear.

While all of these emotions are normal to feel and experience, it is the suppression or prolonging of them that can disrupt the flow of Qi in our bodies, and eventually cause imbalance and disease.

The lack of consideration for our emotional health and the connection between emotions and disease is a major oversight within the Western medical paradigm, as well as a major strength of Chinese Medicine.

Feeling our feelings is healing! I have experienced this on my own journey, and I see it every day in my practice. It takes a lot of courage, but embracing our full emotional spectrum is beautiful and human. You can only go as high as you have gone low 💕
