The Anthroposophical Prison Outreach Walk-a-thon is coming soon! Walk a Mile in my Shoes will be held throughout the weekend of September 19 - 21, 2025. APO has a Walk-a-thon each year to raise funds supporting our work -, bringing the wisdom of Rudolf Steiner to individuals who are in prison. We would love to have you join us to Walk, Run, or Cycle! Anthroposophical studies and spiritual practices lead the soul toward genuine human experience with others. The APO Newsletter, Illuminating Anthroposophy, Issue 39 is here at the link below under 'Our Newsletter'. This issue focuses on the very important topic of compassion and forgiveness. Raising our consciousness in the midst of the challenges surrounding us can be difficult. This is what impresses us most about our APO students, studying and applying anthroposophy while they are serving time in prison.

Each year Anthroposophical Prison Outreach (APO) has a Walk-a-thon to raise funds supporting our work, bringing the wisdom of Rudolf Steiner to individuals who are in prison. Our 12th annual walk-a-thon is coming soon! Walk a Mile in my Shoes will be held throughout the weekend of September 20 - 22, 2024. We hope you will join us to Walk, Run, or Cycle! Alexis, in a prison in OK, sends us his efforts with working on a meditative exercise Rudolf Steiner gives in his book: How to Know Higher Worlds – to meditate on both the blooming and withering plant. In prison you seldom have opportunity to view a plant in this way. However Alexis has used his imagination, and brings alive for himself this meditative exercise through visual art.

Our Newsletter is for prison participants who are working toward inner development as part of the APO program while incarcerated. You will also find in the Newsletter an assortment of sections with paragraph writings by prisoners who are studying. In these sections we end each of the individual paragraph writings with the Inmate’s first name and their location. This gives prisoners a chance to also read another's experience of their book summary, or meditative work, as well as a section of sharing of new insights found and how through one’s studies have made an impact in their lives.

The chirp of the birds
And the rhythm of its wind.
Stop and breathe
Slowly
And you will feel
The heart of man,
The Spirit of God
And the urgency of attaining this Peace.
In mid-pace
Meditate
And touch the land,
Embrace the naturalness,
And you will reach the sky; see the senselessness in
what we do
And cry at the preciousness that we miss and destroy.
Pray to it
Which is He, She, Love, Hope and Oneness.
This is all we have,
So let’s make it better for us.
Speak to the Earth
