Three Simple Fall Practices
As fall becomes cooler, drier, and more changeable, Ayurveda reminds us that a little more warmth, nourishment, and rhythm can go a long way.
1. Eat at consistent times.
Instead of skipping meals or eating whenever you can, try giving your body a predictable rhythm. Regular meals, especially making lunch your main meal, support digestion, energy, and a steadier nervous system.
2. Choose warm over cold.
Swap just one cold or dry meal for something warm and nourishing: oatmeal instead of cold cereal, soup instead of a cold sandwich, or roasted vegetables instead of a raw salad. Small seasonal shifts can help balance fallâs cool, dry qualities.
3. Bookend your day.
Choose one simple practice to begin your morning and one to close your evening. Start your day with warm lemon water or a morning walk to connect with nature. In the evening, try a few minutes of breathing, gentle movement, or simply going to bed at a consistent time. Creating these small anchors can bring more rhythm and steadiness to your day; it doesnât need to be complicated to make a difference.
