"I haven't peed this well in years."

I hear this from my male patients more often than you might think.

Many men live with urinary symptoms assuming they're just part of life or that medication and surgery are the only options. Sometimes, the pelvic floor is part of the problem.

Pelvic floor physical therapy may help improve urinary flow, bladder emptying, and reduce straining.

If you're experiencing urinary symptoms, don't assume you have to live with them. Let's find out what's really going on.

I became a pelvic floor physical therapist because I was a pelvic floor patient first.

What kept me from going? Fear of the internal exam.

But that appointment solved the puzzle behind my pain and changed my life.

Now, almost every week, I hear patients—men and women—say the same thing:

"I wish I had come sooner."

If fear, embarrassment, or uncertainty has been holding you back, know that you're not alone. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help, and your evaluation is always tailored to your comfort level. 💛

Had a wonderful time speaking at Burn Boot Camp about a question so many women have but rarely ask:

"Why am I peeing when I jump?"

We talked about why leaking during exercise happens, how to do Kegels the right way (and why they're not always the answer), and how breathing, pressure management, and pelvic floor physical therapy can help you stay active with confidence.

Thank you to everyone who joined, asked great questions, and shared your experiences!

💗 Breast cancer treatment can affect more than your recovery—it can also impact your pelvic health. Bladder changes, pelvic pain, painful intimacy, and core weakness are common, but they don't have to be your new normal. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you heal, regain strength, and get back to living life with confidence.

Pelvic floor health is about more than your pelvic floor.

When treating pelvic floor dysfunction, we don't just focus on the muscles—we look at the whole person.

Four important foundations that support healing include:

😴 Sleep – Your body heals, recovers, and regulates during restful sleep.

🧠 Mental Health – Stress and anxiety can increase muscle tension, including in the pelvic floor.

🥗 Nutrition – Nourishing your body supports tissue healing, bowel health, energy, and overall wellness.

🏃 Movement – The right movement improves strength, coordination, and confidence without overloading your body.

These foundations work together to create an environment where healing is possible. Pelvic floor therapy isn't just about treating symptoms—it's about helping you build a healthier, more resilient body.
