Hi sweet SoulCare Community!
If we haven’t yet met, my name is Meghan Kemp + as a teacher here I’d love to share a deeply personal story with you…
Years of anxiety manifested in my gut and created an inability to process + digest the world, so to speak. From 18 to 29, I developed an absolutely debilitating intolerance to bananas + avocados ,if I accidentally ate a bite of avo in sushi or had a smoothie bowl with a sneaky banana, I was horizontal for hours on end. It sucked.
And the anxiety didn’t only manifest in my inability to digest these favorite foods… it also hindered one of my greatest passions: travel,leading to major flight anxiety.
Both of which unexpectedly resolved within my first extended stay in India back in 2019, primarily through an incredibly life-changing practice of Himalayan Kundalini, or as I like to alternatively call it: Holistic Yoga.
Now, I didn’t go to India with a specific intention to heal my gut or remedy the experience of anxiety in my life, but Mother India has a way of giving you exactly what you need.
She also brought me into deep devotion to this dynamic, ancient + complete practice of yoga, all at the birthplace of yoga at the foothills of the Himalayas ,a mountain range my soul has always felt magnetized towards.
This openness to allowing the power of the Himalayas – its timeless wisdom, transcendental mantras, profound meditation techniques, esoteric breathwork practices, grounding chi movement beyond asanas (aka the typical yoga postures we practice on our mat), and so much more – brought me to a place of deep resolve + peace within myself.
And that’s exactly why we’re going to start offering this class weekly at SoulCare!
To explore yoga as a complete living practice that supports every layer of our being.
One I am truly humbled + grateful to now share with you here in Aptos, just in case you’re not planning on making it to the Himalayas anytime soon ;)
