A drug formulary is basically your insurance company's "shopping list" of medications they will cover. But for bleeding disorders, it’s not always simple.

✍️ Most factor products and non-factor therapies fall into "Specialty Tiers" (Tier 4 or 5). This can mean higher out-of-pocket costs or coinsurance rather than a flat copay.

✍️ Your plan might "prefer" one brand of factor over another. If your doctor prescribes a non-preferred brand, you might face a "Prior Authorization" or "Step Therapy" (making you try a different drug first).

✍️ Formularies can change every year or even mid-year!

✍️ Check your "Summary of Benefits" to see if your specific product is covered!
