All this time, we‘ve been moving between communities that have slowly become familiar to us. Every conversation, every cups of tea, every small moment across the table is something we genuinely value.

Many of the changes and upgrades in our teas came from you. Your suggestions, your feedback, your honesty. Each new version carries a part of that shared process.

Many people choose loose leaf tea for the flavor, but what‘s actually inside your tea bag?

Most tea bags are filled with small broken pieces of tea leaves designed to brew quickly, regardless of the freshness of the tea. Not only that they often lack the complexity, but also contains billions of microplastics.

More people are rethinking the way they brew tea. But what keeps us choosing loose leaf tea goes beyond what it avoids.

Whole leaf tea is different. As the leaves gradually unfurl, they release layers of flavor, aroma, and depth that evolve throughout the steep.

Our Wuyi Rock Tea production season has just come to an end.

This year, we spent time in Zhuke (竹窠) Tea Garden, the core origin of our Da Hong Pao in Wuyi Mountain, and wanted to share a few moments from the process.

Hidden deep in the valley, Zhuke is shaped by mist, streams, mineral-rich soil, and a carefully protected ecosystem. The sunlight is softer here. The air is humid. The path into the tea garden is narrow, steep, and easy to lose your way in.

No machines, no cars, no drones.
Only people, the mountain, and the leaves.

This is part of why Wuyi Rock Tea is so precious. In China, people often call its unique character “岩韵 Yan Yun” — the rocky, mineral rhythm of the mountain. It is not just a flavor, but the breath of nature shaped by the land, the farmers who care for it, and the tea makers who transform each leaf with patience and reverence.

Two new loose leaf teas have arrived at Chafolio: Sticky Rice Pu’er and Phoenix Oolong.

For Sticky Rice Pu’er, we wanted to create a tea with a scent that felt distinctly rooted in Chinese culture. That search led us to southern Yunnan, where Nuo Mi Xiang Ye, or Sticky Rice Herb, has long been known for its natural glutinous-rice aroma.

Blended with ripe Pu’er, it brings a soft steamed-rice fragrance to the tea’s smooth, earthy depth, a scent connected to everyday Chinese food memory.

Phoenix Oolong offers a different kind of aroma: bright, elegant, and layered. We chose Mi Lan Xiang, or Honey Orchid, for its notes of wildflower honey, orchid bloom, and soft ripe fruit.

One is mellow and rice-like. One is fragrant and floral. Together, they show two distinctive sides of Chinese tea tradition.

Aromatic Honey Black tea that can elevate your summer drink obsession started
Made from the birthplace of black tea: Wuyi mountain. This tea carries naturally sweet notes of honey, roasted sweet potato, malt, and a subtle smoky finish from a centuries-old pinewood smoking technique.

No added honey flavor, the honey aroma comes from the natural fermentation.

When shaken with fresh lemon and lime, the citrus becomes smoother, rounder, and less sharp, almost like a handcrafted tea shop version at home.

Recipe:

2 tsp tea leaves
1 cup water

1/2 lemon juice
1/2 lime

2–3 lemon lime wedges
2 tsp brown sugar

Meet the newest arrivals in our Chinese Herbal Tea collection: two fruit-forward blends inspired by the fruits our community loved most.

Based on our community vote, we created two new blends featuring snow pear, passion fruit, and fig.

🍈 Passion Fruit Melon Tea
A bright, tropical blend with Hami melon(cantaloupe), passion fruit, fig, hawthorn, and coconut — fruity, fragrant, and sunshine-like in every sip.

🍐 Snow Pear Orange Tea
A soothing blend of snow pear, red dates, longan, mandarin peel, and jasmine blossoms — mellow, floral, and gently nourishing.

Both blends are caffeine-free and rooted in the everyday wisdom of Chinese food culture.
