Why focus on your health?

Our health affects our daily lives and how we show up for the people around us.

When we are not doing well with our health, how well can we show up for our family, friends, community, and purpose?

That does not mean changing everything overnight.

Start with the basic pillars of health:

Sleep: Consistent Rest

Nutrition: Whole Foods

Stress: Under Control

Movement: Short Walks

Mindset: Purposeful Living

We were meant to serve others...Well.

Family.
Friends.
Community.

Caring for your health is one way you can better support the people you love.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I believe this last pillar fits well:

Mindset.

There are many ways mental health can affect overall health. For me, this is not only practical. It is also personal and rooted in my faith.

Mindset is not about pretending everything is fine.

I have personally walked through seasons of depression, hopeless thoughts, lack of purpose, low confidence, and more recently anxiety.

One decision I have made is to keep seeking professional support when I need it.

There is no shame in that.

It is okay not to be okay, but I do not believe we were meant to stay there.

We were made to grow.
We were made to heal.
We were made to find hope.
You were made to live with purpose.

A simple place to start:

1. Acknowledge the problem
Be honest about what is going on.

2. Admit the problem
Stop pretending it is not affecting you.

3. Ask for help
Support is not weakness. It is wisdom.

4. Act in faith
Take one small step forward, trusting there is still hope and purpose ahead.

Mindset matters because what we believe can shape the way we live.

If you are struggling, you are not alone.

You do not need to have everything figured out. Start with one honest step.

I needed someone to challenge me, so I want to gently challenge you too.

Aim for progress, slow change, and small steps forward.

As a Health Coach, here is why I look at every aspect of a person’s life.

Body, Mind, & Heart (what drives a person).

In my recent posts, I’ve shared how health is shaped by daily patterns. Stress is one of those patterns that can affect many areas at once.

Stress can build slowly over time.

When we push past our limits, the body starts to feel it.

This is your body giving you a warning.

It may show up through:

-The Nervous System
Making it harder to slow down and rest
-Hormones (The Endocrine System)
Affecting mood, hunger, energy, and sleep
- The Digestion System
Making the gut feel off
-The immune system
wearing the body down over time

This is why stress may show up as poor sleep, low energy, anxiety, poor eating habits, or digestion issues.

There is no shame in asking for help. Support is strength.

Manage stress with these simple steps:

-Pause and take a few slow breaths
-Step outside for a short walk
-Eat without rushing when you can
-Give yourself a few minutes of quiet
-Reach out for support when needed

Remember: Small steps matter. Start with one.
