Two years of scans, and scanxiety still hits every single time. 💗

But today was different. After waiting years for access to QT breast imaging, I finally had my first QT scan. No compression. No radiation. And a completely different experience than the breast imaging I’ve become accustomed to.

She didn’t get to choose the soil, the storms, or what she had to grow through.

But still, she reached for the light.

She stood strong.
She kept growing.
And against all odds, she bloomed beautifully.

Maybe that’s what thriving really looks like—not a life untouched by hardship, but a life that refuses to let the hardship have the final word.

Sometimes God grows the strongest things in the places we never would have chosen.

Sitting here reflecting on how much hormones can impact our lives…

As a hormone receptor-positive breast cancer survivor, I see hormones differently now. They don’t just influence our mood or sleep—they can affect weight, inflammation, energy, muscle, brain fog, and, for some of us, even our cancer journey.

One of the hardest parts is that many of the treatments commonly used for weight loss or hormone management aren’t always straightforward when you’ve had hormone-driven breast cancer. Every decision requires weighing the potential benefits against the risks and having thoughtful conversations with your healthcare team.

I’ve learned that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it’s about looking beyond calories and exercise to understand what your body is trying to tell you.

If you’re walking this path too, know you’re not alone. Keep asking questions. Keep advocating for yourself. You deserve a care plan that treats you, not just your diagnosis. 💗
