🌈 Could Your Child Benefit From Additional Support? 💛
Every child develops at their own pace, but sometimes parents may notice areas where their child could benefit from a little extra support.
Some things you may notice include:
💬 Difficulty communicating wants and needs
👋 Limited social interaction or interest in peers
🧩 Difficulty with changes in routines or transitions
😣 Frequent frustration, tantrums, or difficulty regulating emotions
🧸 Difficulty playing
independently or interacting with toys appropriately
👂 Difficulty following simple directions
🪥 Challenges with daily living skills such as dressing, toileting, eating, or brushing teeth
🏃 Safety concerns such as running away or difficulty recognizing danger
🔄 Repetitive behaviors or highly restricted interests that interfere with everyday activities
🏫 Difficulty participating in everyday routines at home, school, or in the community
Noticing some of these signs does not automatically mean your child has autism or needs ABA therapy. However, they may be a reason to talk with your child’s pediatrician or another qualified professional about whether additional evaluation or support could be helpful.
At Autism Optimism DFW, we provide individualized, play-based and naturalistic ABA therapy designed around each child’s unique strengths, needs, and interests. 💛
Have questions about ABA or aren’t sure where to start? We’re always happy to help point families in the right direction.
