When I go to a birth, I don’t just bring my “doula bag.” I also bring my “acu bag.”

This includes:
*ESSENTIAL OILS to help with relaxation, energy, progression, nausea

*ACUPUNCTURE SUPPLIES to treat so many things that could come up during a labor e.g slow dilation, irregular contractions, anxiety, nausea, pain, poor positioning.

(I often utilize acupressure for my doula clients who want to go unmedicated but then utilize acupuncture postpartum from hormone balance, anxiety, milk supply, pain, digestive imbalance.)

*A STIM MACHINE to make the treatment even stronger

*TOPICALS to help ease discomfort & tension- often a nice distraction

*MOXIBUSTION SUPPLIES to help with conditions like fatigue (and recovery postpartum)

*CUPPING + GUA SHA SUPPLIES I don’t utilize these as much during labor, but most of my postpartum clients LOVE work on their neck & back after the increased amount of time sitting, holding their new baby,, and figuring out feeding.

Being on call means that between weeks 37-42 of my client’s pregnancy, I’m ready to go at a moment’s notice.

This means that my doula bag pretty much comes with me everywhere!

Sometimes I go through numerous items at a birth; other times, I don’t even open my bags.

I may just use my observational skills, my hands, my camera, and work with what’s already in the space.

Here’s what I personally do to prioritize health & wellness:

*Diffuse + apply my essential oils.

*Choose healthy recipes for meals, and make our grocery list based off of that.

*Take my supplements.

*Schedule my next appointment before I leave acupuncture, chiropractor, craniosacral, massage, etc.

*Make time for movement in my day. Even a short walk helps me reset.

Trust me! It’s more common, and more beneficial, than you think.

Studies show that new moms who consume their placenta after birth see:

💗Improved mood and energy
💛Increased milk supply
💜Faster postpartum recovery
🤍Less postpartum bleeding

Can you believe Halloween is only 2.5 months away?

It will be here before we know it, so why not take the steps you need NOW to get healthier, more balanced hormones?

No one wants to head into the holidays cranky, bloated, struggling with acne and/or dealing with irregular, painful periods!

Here is what I would do to get my hormones in check:

💗Come in weekly for acupuncture treatments.
💛Use my Support for Her roller daily.
💜Take herbs if needed.
💗Eat balanced “whole food” meals throughout the day, including protein.
💛Stay hydrated.
💜Move your body.
💗Manage stress.
💛Prioritize rest.

The problem didn’t start overnight, so we can’t fix it overnight, but it also doesn’t need to take years to start feeling relief.
