Prepared. Confident. Ready to Respond

Luther Village staff recently participated in a hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training Day, bringing team members from across departments together to learn, practice, and build confidence in responding to a fire emergency. Staff didn’t just learn about fire safety; they had the opportunity to physically operate a fire extinguisher and practice putting out a simulated fire. The energy and participation were incredible! Safety is a team effort, and experiences like this help ensure our staff are prepared to respond when it matters most. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made the training such an engaging and valuable experience! One team. Hands-on training. A safer Luther Village.

An afternoon at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, it holds 1,000 butterflies from over 200 native and exotic species. Our residents found the museum to be fascinating with all the many exhibits. We could have spent all day in each exhibit alone! One resident was ecstatic that a butterfly landed on her hand and stayed for about 10 minutes!

What a one-of-a-kind experience at The Gardens at Ball in West Chicago! You would never know such a beautiful and almost magical garden was tucked away in the middle of the area. Our residents, committee members, board members, and staff had the opportunity to walk through rows and rows of incredible flowers, plants, textures, and colors. We even got a preview of some of the new flower varieties coming in 2027, along with many unique species that some of us had never seen before. It was a wonderful morning of learning, exploring, and simply enjoying the beauty of the gardens together. A special thank you to our staff and to our partners at Ground Pros, especially Karen, for making this opportunity possible and for walking alongside our residents and sharing their knowledge throughout the visit. A truly beautiful and memorable experience for Luther Village!

We had beautiful weather for our trip to The Baha’i Temple, designed by architect Louis Bourgeois, is the second of eight Baha’i Houses of Worship and the oldest still standing. It is the only Baha’i Temple in North America!

Together, we walked with purpose. Together, we walked with hope

At Luther Village, our residents came together for our Walk to End Alzheimer’s, each carrying a name, a memory, or a reason close to their heart.

Some walked for someone they love.

Some walked in memory of someone they miss.

Some walked for friends, family, neighbors, and hope for the future.

Those photographed shared their personal reasons to keep walking, supporting, remembering, and hoping.

Seeing our residents proudly stand beside our “Today I Walk For…” display was a beautiful reminder that behind every name is a story, and behind every step is love.

A special thank you to our Luther Village Woodworkers for helping bring our vision for the display to life, and to everyone who walked, encouraged, supported, and shared their story.

Ms. Myers entertained the crowd last night with a bells concert, telling jokes and stories in between the concert. With songs like, "A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes", and "God Bless America." Ms. Myers is a resident here at Luther Village who shares her love for music and bells with the rest of the community.

It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert with the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band at North School Park.
