American Diabetes Association - Professional Publications

American Diabetes Association - Professional Publications The monthly, peer-reviewed journal focuses primarily on the physiology and pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications.

ADA's publications - Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetes, Obesity, and CardioMetabolic CARE, & Books - are premier scientific & medical resources for diabetes research, care, prevention, and treatment. With impact factors of 9.332 and 17.152, Diabetes and Diabetes Care are the premier journals devoted exclusively to original diabetes-related research:

Diabetes, ADA's flagship research publication,

is the highest-ranked journal devoted to basic diabetes research. Diabetes Care, also a monthly peer-reviewed research publication, is the highest ranked journal devoted exclusively to diabetes treatment, care, and prevention. ADA treatment guidelines, position statements, and clinical practice recommendations are published in Diabetes Care. Clinical Diabetes and Diabetes Spectrum are ADA’s two cutting-edge “translational” journals:

Clinical Diabetes is a quarterly journal for primary care physicians, general practitioner, and other health care professionals. Each issue contains one or more feature articles that focus on the latest trends and innovations in diabetes care and treatment, as well as mini-reviews of landmark studies, practical treatment pointers, and best practices related to diabetes care. Clinical Diabetes focuses on translating recent diabetes-related research into clinical applications. Diabetes Spectrum is a quarterly journal for diabetes educators, nutritionists, nurse practitioners, and other health care providers. The journal’s “From Research to Practice” section provides in-depth explorations of selected diabetes care topics, with a primary focus on translating current research findings into educational and treatment strategies. ADA’s Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes are the most essential and up-to-date resource for clinicians, dietitians, and educators on the treatment of diabetes. Published each year with the January issue of Diabetes Care, the CPRs include ADA's standards for diagnosing and treating diabetes, nutrition recommendations and principles, and position statements on managing diabetes and its complications in various settings.
