It's ! šŸ

While pasta often gets a bad reputation, nutritionists agree that there are many health benefits to this Italian staple, especially when topped with a healthy protein and vegetable.

Some of pasta's nutrition health benefits include:

šŸPasta is a good source of complex carbohydrates, providing energy.
šŸWhole grain pasta is rich in fiber, which promotes digestive health and helps regulate blood sugar levels.
šŸPasta is also a source of B vitamins, iron, and folate, which are essential for overall health.

Tap into your inner-Italian and enjoy a bowl of pasta today!

Today is National Mammography Day, an important reminder and encouragement to women to get screened for breast cancer through receiving a mammogram.

• When detected early, in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate for breast cancer is 99%, and mammograms are key to the early detection of breast cancer.

• Mammography has helped reduce breast cancer mortality in the U.S. by nearly 40% since 1990.

• Mammography screening cuts the risk of dying from breast cancer nearly in half.

A great way to observe is to prioritize your own breast health by scheduling your annual mammogram! And then encourage the women in your life to schedule theirs as well.

October 13 is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. šŸ’—

Metastatic breast cancer (stage IV) occurs when breast cancer spreads beyond the breast to other parts of the body. An estimated 155,000 people in the U.S. are living with metastatic breast cancer, and that number is expected to grow in the coming years.

While breast cancer awareness has helped advance early detection and treatment, metastatic breast cancer remains incurable—and more research and treatment options are urgently needed.

Today is a reminder that even when someone has followed recommended screenings and treatments, breast cancer can still return and spread. Metastatic breast cancer deserves recognition, compassion, and continued investment in research.

This World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on the 2026 theme: ā€œLived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.ā€

Every mental health journey is different. At Inspire, we believe compassionate care starts with listening—to the whole person, their experiences, and what they need to feel their best.

Today, check in with yourself. Check in with someone you love. And never underestimate the power of simply listening.

Is your gut starting to run your life? šŸ’›

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is common, but that doesn’t mean you have to simply live with unpredictable digestive symptoms.

Bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation—or a combination of symptoms—can affect much more than your digestive system. IBS can influence your work, social life, travel, and everyday routines.

If your digestive health feels unpredictable or you’re regularly relying on over-the-counter products to manage symptoms, it’s worth talking with your healthcare provider.

Start with your Inspire primary care provider to discuss what you’re experiencing and determine the right next steps. Our Registered Dietitian, Agata Williams, RDN, LD, can also help you explore nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support better digestive health.

You don’t have to plan your life around your gut. Contact Inspire to schedule an appointment.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women. In Maryland, nearly 6,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and approximately 1 in 5 women who are eligible for screening are not up to date with their mammograms.

Mammography can detect breast cancer before symptoms develop, when it may be easier to treat. Staying current with recommended screening is an important part of preventive care.

We are especially fortunate that breast imaging and primary care are literally just steps apart. Dr. Amodei and the team at Bay Radiology practice in the same medical building as our primary care team, allowing us to work together and make the process of breast screening feel a little more personal and a lot more convenient.

Dr. Amodei: ā€œOur goal is to provide careful, thoughtful breast imaging while helping patients understand their results.ā€

Dr. Sourwine: ā€œPreventive care works best when we do it together. Having breast imaging right here in our building makes that partnership especially meaningful.ā€

Breast cancer screening is an important part of preventive care. If you are due for your mammogram, don’t put it off. Talk with our team about when you should be screened and let us help you take that next step.
