Operation Clearwater, a program run through the AACC Environmental Center, has been active for over 40 years. The program started as a collaboration between the Severn River Association and AACC to conduct bacterial monitoring along the Severn River. Over the past years, the program has grown and testing is now done on the Magothy River, South R

iver and its tributaries, Rock Creek, West River, Rhodes River and Parker Creek. In addition, the program has expanded to include additional testing including nutrient and suspended sediment testing, as well as measurement of other water quality parameters. The program also includes outreach to community organizations to conduct training and aid in setting up new volunteer programs.
