On 2 September 1978, New Jersey decriminalised same-s*x s*xual acts between consenting adults.

The state passed a new Code of Criminal Justice that got rid of penalties for private s*xual acts between consenting adults, after the State Legislature voted to approve the revision in July 1978.

Following the change in the law, a state senator attempted to introduce a bill that once again criminalised so**my specifically for same-s*x couples. This failed and saw huge public backlash.

World Hepatitis Day reminds us that millions of people are living with viral hepatitis, many without knowing it. Early testing, hepatitis A and B vaccinations, and access to care can help prevent serious liver disease and save lives.

At CFHI, we're committed to connecting our community with trusted healthcare, education, and resources that support lifelong wellness. If you have questions about your health or risk factors, talk with your healthcare provider about hepatitis screening and prevention.
