Every logo has a story. Ours started with an actual dragonfly.

Before Care Connect NoVa existed, our founder Lisa was kayaking on the Chesapeake Bay, quietly thinking through her next chapter — where her life was headed, what she really wanted to build. In the middle of that reflection, a dragonfly landed on her shoulder.

It sounds small. It didn't feel small.

Dragonflies have long symbolized transformation and change — creatures that move between water and air, spending most of their short lives in flight, fully present in the moment they're in. To Lisa, it felt like a sign: take the leap.

That's the story behind our logo. Not a focus group, not a branding exercise — a single, quiet moment that gave her the push to start something new.

We still carry that meaning with us today. Aging, caregiving, and life's transitions all ask us to move through change with a little grace — and that's exactly what we hope to help our clients and families do, one day at a time.

Here's a sneaky one: by the time you feel thirsty, you're probably already a little dehydrated.

It gets trickier as we age — that thirst signal just doesn't shout as loud as it used to. So a lot of seniors are running low on fluids without ever really noticing, and it can show up as things you wouldn't expect. Dizziness. A little confusion. Feeling "off." Even a higher chance of taking a fall.

The fix is refreshingly simple, though: small sips throughout the day beat chugging a big glass all at once, and it doesn't even have to be plain water — soup, fruit, herbal tea all count too.
