Three years ago, I never could have imagined this moment.

Three years ago, I was facing the unimaginable loss of my son, Jai'.

Today, as we celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Hushed and Unheard Medical & Wellness, I am grateful. I am proud. I am excited for what lies ahead.

But if I'm being honest, I also wish Jai' were here to see it.

Grief does not disappear when beautiful things happen. Sometimes it becomes even more present. Today is one of those days.

This clinic represents a new vision—one built on compassion, connection, faith, and the belief that people deserve to feel heard.

I may practice healthcare differently than what many people are used to, but there has never been anything traditional about my journey. People mean the world to me. How they feel matters to me. Their fears matter. Their questions matter. Their stories matter.

Hushed and Unheard was created because I believe healthcare should be more than diagnosing and prescribing. It should be about relationships, trust, and caring for the whole person.

It is a vision shaped by both life's greatest blessings and its deepest heartbreaks. Every step of this journey has required faith, perseverance, and the support of a community that has continued to believe in me and this mission.

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care is a monthly membership that gives you better access to your primary care provider.

Your membership may include:

✓ Same-day or next-day appointments when available
✓ Longer, unhurried visits
✓ Direct communication with your provider when questions arise
✓ Access to deeply discounted medications and laboratory services
✓ Care focused on you, not a rushed schedule

Direct Primary Care is not health insurance.

Many patients choose to keep their health insurance for hospitalizations, surgeries, specialist care, imaging, and emergencies while using Direct Primary Care for their everyday healthcare needs.

At Hushed and Unheard Medical & Wellness, we believe healthcare should feel personal. We believe you deserve time to ask questions, a provider who knows your story, and care built around a relationship rather than a number.

Many of you have asked whether Medicare-age patients will be able to participate in our Direct Primary Care program. After much prayer, planning, and preparation, we are excited to share that we anticipate opening our Direct Primary Care membership to Medicare-age patients beginning in July.🎉

We are in the middle of a major transition, learning as we go, and building something new together. There are still boxes to unpack, systems to learn, and a lot of moving pieces.

Through it all, I want to publicly thank Carol and Tanya.

None of us have had much time to ease into this. We are learning each other while preparing for our grand re-opening on June 8th. Yet they continue to show up with patience, determination, and a willingness to grow through the process.

What matters is that we keep God first, trust the process, and keep moving forward.

Building something meaningful isn’t always easy. It requires faith, flexibility, and people who are willing to keep showing up even when everything isn’t fully in place yet.

🌙 Nighttime Knowledge Check

Ever had blood work come back “normal,” but you still feel exhausted?

You’re not imagining it.

One thing many people don’t realize is that your body has a protein called SHBG. Think of it like a sponge. It can hold onto testosterone and make less of it available for your body to actually use.

In simple terms, total testosterone is what your body produces. Free testosterone is what your body can actually use.

So yes, your numbers may look fine on paper, but that doesn’t always tell the whole story.

Stress, poor sleep, certain medications, and other factors can affect how much of your hormones are actually available to your body.

That’s why healthcare shouldn’t be reduced to a quick glance at a lab report. How you feel matters too.

If you’ve been told everything looks “normal” but you still don’t feel like yourself, it may be time to take a deeper look.

Today, we officially cleared the last items from our original location.

It's hard to put into words what this space represented. It was where a vision became reality, where prayers met purpose, and where Hushed and Unheard first opened its doors to serve this community.

As we close one chapter, we step into another with excitement, humility, and a heart full of gratitude.

Thank you to every patient, supporter, friend, and family member who has encouraged us along the way. This move is more than a change of address. It's a reminder that growth often requires us to leave behind what is familiar so we can embrace what is next.

After receiving so many calls and requests, we are actively working toward expanding our Direct Primary Care program to include adults age 65 and older.
