Our first two weeks of May have been as always full of movement, collaboration, advocacy, learning, wellness… and joy at UNETE NC! 🌻
✨ Our first Basic Computer Skills class graduated with 10 students gained important skills and the second class has already started!!
✨ We talked about scholarships, educational opportunities, and planning for the future with Dr. Juanes Ramirez JuanEs at CFNC
✨ We continue supporting our MANOS students with the expertise and assistance of 3 NC Certified Teachers, the mentoring of UNETE Connectors, and the generosity of community visitors and supporters
✨ We participated in Pisgah Legal Services’ Lunch & Learn and attended the Governor’s Advisory Council meeting in Sylva
✨ We celebrated Mother’s Day at Erwin Middle and Enka Middle Schools . Thank you La Bamba Mexican Restaurant
✨ We hosted listening sessions with partner organizations and celebrated alongside United Way Impact Award recipients
✨ We traveled to Raleigh and beyond to continue advocating for wellness for the whole person and the whole community
And of course… FUN is part of wellness too!
From Zumba with Mi Vida / Forever Young to dancing at the event in Devil's Foot Beverage, with AcheTropical Band, Firewalker Hot Sauce, and https://www.svitlanaskitchen.com brought delicious chocolates and desserts — there were plenty of opportunities to reconnect, laugh, dance, and celebrate community together.
Transformation truly requires a village, and we are deeply grateful for every partner, volunteer, organization, Community Health Worker, mentor, family, and friends who understands the true meaning of “Stronger Together.” 💛
