There are no coincidences. Only divine appointments.
On my way home from a work assignment, I was checking a bag filled with copies of my Woodsmentality Devotional when the airline attendant informed me that I was over the weight limit.
“Is there anything you can move to your carry-on?”
So I unzipped my bag and started transferring items, including several copies of my book.
As I was doing so, he asked, “What’s that?”
I told him it was my new devotional for men. As a thank you for trying to help me avoid the overweight baggage fee, I handed him a copy.
He looked at it, paused, and said:
“Wow. I don’t believe in coincidences. This is exactly what I needed.”
In that moment, a wave of gratitude washed over me.
Not because I gladly donated a book.
Not because someone recognized my work.
But because I felt the unmistakable confirmation that I am walking deeper into my purpose.
For nearly two decades, I’ve been blessed to help facilitate physical healing as a urologist. But God continues to show me that my assignment is bigger than that. It’s also about helping men heal emotionally, spiritually, and relationally—to know themselves, know God, and show up more fully in the lives of those they love.
Two strangers. One airport. One conversation.
A divine appointment.
My brother from South Carolina, I pray this devotional blesses you, challenges you, and strengthens your most cherished relationships. Thank you for reminding me that when we walk in purpose, God creates opportunities we could never orchestrate ourselves.
Until our paths cross again, God bless you on your Woodsmen journey. 🌲🙏🏾
