Inviting Abundance

Inviting Abundance Grief Classes, Workshops & Projects; Reiki Sessions & Classes; Teaching, Learning & Writing Support We both earned our Ph.D. degrees by the age of 29.

Welcome to Inviting Abundance, a collection of wellness and educational services for people seeking to engage with the complexity of life. To help you understand the scope of these services, we offer this brief introduction about us:

Together, we have achieved a great deal. We have travelled and lived abroad. We have published books and essays on various topics. Our backgrounds in the performing

arts and literature have brought us into contact with international artists and thinkers, many of whom we count as our greatest friends and teachers. None of our achievements, however, prepared us for the death of our son in June, 2014. Finlay Emilio died of unknown causes at the end of 20+ hours of labor, and his departure from this world broke us into millions of jagged pieces. Finlay's death devastated us, clarified what mattered most to us, and opened us up in ways we could not have previously imagined. Our slow process of healing has allowed in new ways of thinking, feeling, learning, and growing. We recognized, as Rumi says, that light enters through the wound. We soon realized, however, that no pre-existing job matched our unique blend of abilities and life experiences. Instead of trying to fit ourselves into a place that didn't feel quite right for us, we decided to make a place crafted with creativity and care. Inviting Abundance is a space where we continue to grow and thrive as we work with others who want to cultivate a purposeful and creative life attuned to the complexity of the world and their own hearts. There is great abundance in grieving, in continuing your education, and in embracing significant life changes. To access this abundance, you need to invite it in. We want to help you craft your invitation.

Calling all compassionate warriors! You know who you are 🫢 You understand the urgency of this moment and act with compassionate awareness.

🌹 You see the injustices and suffering AND the possibilities for healing on individual and collective levels. You imagine places where everyone feels safe and loved, AND you work toward that future.

🌹 We ALL need nurturing and community/solidarity to aid our individual and community healing. Plant allies are one incredible source for helping us to feel grounded and connected.

🌹 This workshop shares information about plants known for their support of our nervous systems and easy ways to incorporate them into your days or weeks. Together we'll breathe, slow down, reflect, and share.

Each participant receives a workshop package that includes:

Sleeping Bee 🐝 on Elderberries: a reminder to rest. 😴 It's been so hot in Finlay's Garden that I'm usually in the garden by 6am, before the sun rises, to carefully water the plants. For the past few days, I've noticed sleeping bees -- on the cantaloupe flowers, among the anise hyssop blossoms, and, today, on the berries.

Once the β˜€οΈ rises, they shake off their slumber and resume their important work.

πŸ™Thank you, bees, for all you do for our world.

πŸ™ Thank you gardeners, farmers, arborists, horticulturists, educators, beekeepers, et al. for all you do to conserve our precious flora and fauna and inspire others to do the same.

✨️ May we all listen to our bodies' signals to rest and find safe places to do so ✨️
