What are hunger and fullness cues?

Hunger-fullness cues are signals that our bodies give us to tell us when it is time to eat and when it’s time to stop.

Its important to know that not everyone may experience the same hunger-fullness cues because the way our body communicates is unique to each individual.

Some cues may be more physical in nature like feeling your stomach feel more stretched or even empty. On the other hand, there may be emotional/mental cues present like feelings of distraction or irritability.

Listening to these cues ensure that were supporting our body with what it needs.

Grief can affect our appetite, routines, energy, and relationship with food. On difficult days, nourishment doesn’t need to look perfect—it just needs to be supportive and compassionate. 🤍

Give yourself permission to be flexible, let go of food rules, and care for your body in whatever way feels manageable.

Today, we remember and honor those affected by 9/11. 🕊️

September can bring a lot of pressure to “reset,” get back into a routine, or change your body.

Instead of asking, “Do I like how my body looks?” try checking in with how you’re actually experiencing your body.

Are you eating consistently?
Are you getting enough rest?
Do your clothes feel comfortable?
Are you avoiding things because of body shame?
What does your body need from you right now?

Your body doesn’t need a September makeover. It deserves care, nourishment, comfort, and compassion exactly as it is. 🤍
