What a fantastic Saturday at Skylark Assisted Living! Our residents enjoyed a beautiful afternoon filled with classic cars, delicious barbecue, music, sunshine, and plenty of smiles. From admiring vintage rides to building the perfect burger and sharing stories with friends and family, it was a day to remember.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their vehicles, helped grill, volunteered their time, and joined us in making this event such a success. Events like these remind us that community, connection, and creating joyful moments are what it’s all about.

At Skylark, we’re not just creating activities—we’re creating memories. ❤️

Today we say goodbye to our incredible Community Relations Director, Nikki, as she takes the next step toward her dream of completing her real estate license and following in her mother’s footsteps as a Realtor.

Nikki has been a valued part of the Skylark family, helping countless residents and families navigate important life transitions with compassion, kindness, and a genuine heart for service. Her dedication to our residents, team, and community has made a lasting impact, and she will be greatly missed.

While we’re sad to see her go, we couldn’t be more excited to watch her succeed in this new chapter. Prepared Today, Protected Tomorrow!

Today, our Executive Director and Maintenance Director had the opportunity to attend the Business Emergency Preparedness Workshop hosted by the Ashland Chamber of Commerce.

A huge thank you to the Ashland Chamber, local emergency preparedness leaders, and community partners for providing such valuable information, resources, and guidance. From disaster planning to business continuity, the knowledge shared today will help us strengthen our preparedness efforts and better protect our residents, team members, and community.

At Skylark Senior Living, preparedness is more than a plan—it’s part of our commitment to providing a safe, secure, and resilient environment for those who call Skylark home.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that prioritizes collaboration, education, and readiness.

Our Executive Director Makena at work advocating in DC this week. 💜

Thank you Representative Val Hoyle and your staff for taking the time to learn more about issues important to families affected by Alzheimer's Disease. We hope we can count on you to co-sponsor the ASAP act.
-The ASAP Act ensures people can benefit from a simple blood test that can detect Alzheimer’s before symptoms appear — a scientific milestone Medicare cannot support under current law.
-Under current law, Medicare cannot cover screening tests for people without symptoms unless Congress first gives permission. --This is a legal barrier, not a scientific one, and only Congress can fix it.
This is a “mammogram moment” for Alzheimer’s — an opportunity to make early detection and early treatment the standard of care.

Also- Please support the bipartisan Accelerating Access to Dementia & Alzheimer’s Provider Training (AADAPT) Act, which will empower primary care providers to better diagnose Alzheimer’s and other dementia and deliver high-quality, person-centered care in community-based settings.

Memorial Day is about remembering the fallen — the men and women who never made it home. 🇺🇸

But honoring their sacrifice also means caring for the ones who did come home carrying the invisible weight of war.

Too many veterans continue fighting battles long after their service ends: PTSD, addiction, homelessness, lack of healthcare, isolation, and systems that fail them when they need support most.

Patriotism is not just flags and hashtags once a year. It is making sure veterans are housed, fed, medically cared for, mentally supported, and never forgotten after the uniform comes off.

At Skylark Senior Living, we take pride in serving the ones who have served, housing the ones that need us, and honoring the fallen every day through compassion, dignity, and community.

Today we remember those we lost.
And we recommit to caring for those still fighting to survive once they return home.
