After robust attendance in August, signups are now open for two additional live webinar sessions of “Anatomy of a Birth Injury Lawsuit: Allegation Patterns & Key Documentation Issues.” I offer insights on allegation patterns and key issues in birth injury cases--and the importance of documentation—derived from four decades of experience defending malpractice cases in Texas.

These classes, on September 23 and 24 12:00 pm CDT, are moderated by AWHONN Past President and accomplished author Rebecca Cypher, MSN, PNNP. Each class is 1.25 hours and earns CE credit. Included are case studies with interactive polling, Q&A, and even a bit of obstetrical nursing trivia for prizes.

Join us as we partner with Healthy Birth Day, Inc. and Count the Kicks on September 19, 2026 to honor National Stillbirth Prevention and Awareness Day with a moment of remembrance at the Bridge to Prevention!

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge will be lit up in honor of this important day. There will be an organized gathering at the base of the bridge in Omaha (the spray ground area) that will include a walk across the bridge to raise awareness, along with a brief program to honor our babies and share important prevention tools.

This event offers a powerful way to come together as a community in remembrance and hope. Whether you’ve personally experienced stillbirth or simply want to help raise awareness and support prevention efforts, you are welcome, and encouraged, to participate. We look forward to seeing you there!

Early pumping frequency is strongly correlated with achieving coming to volume (CTV) and having increased milk volume production. A model was created to predict CTV using early pumping frequency, achievement of early morning pumping, and birth weight.

This research aims to assess if cumulative pumping volumes during the first 5 postnatal days (CV x 5) influence coming to volume (CTV: producing > 500 milliliters breast milk per day by postnatal Day 14) for mothers of hospitalized infants, with a secondary aim to develop and compare a new predictive model using CV x 5 with our previous model.
