This month, we’re proud to celebrate Marquis as our Work of Heart Featured Artist!

Marquis recently visited the Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities to see his artwork on display and had the opportunity to meet Superintendent Toni Scurpa and pose for a photo together. Moments like these are about more than showcasing art they’re about recognition, connection, and celebrating the talents that make our community stronger.

You can view artwork from Marquis and other talented local artists at locations throughout Ashtabula County and even at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus (Vern Riffe Vern Riffe State Office Tower):

📍 Office of State Rep. David Thomas
📍 Kingsville Public Library Ohio
📍 Ashtabula County Auditor's Office- Scott Yamamoto Auditor
📍 Henderson Library-Jefferson, OH
📍 AM Ford
📍 Ashtabula County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
📍 Ashtabula County Educational Service Center

We’re grateful to our community partners for helping create welcoming spaces where artists can shine. Be sure to stop by and experience the creativity being shared throughout our community!

Summer Menu of Fun!

Who says summer adventures have to be expensive or complicated? Theresa, in our Early Intervention Department (EI), put together a “Menu of Fun” filled with simple activities that everyone can enjoy from low-prep favorites like blowing bubbles and reading on the porch to special outings like visiting a state park, going on a picnic, or making s’mores.

Whether you’re looking for a quick activity, a planned adventure, or a magical summer memory, there’s something on this menu for everyone. Pick an “appetizer,” choose a “main,” and top it off with a “dessert” for a fun-filled day!

What activity is at the top of your summer bucket list?

Representing Ashtabula County were County Board staff, self-advocates, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and Provider, all coming together to explore innovative ways to strengthen supports and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

Thank you to everyone who represented Ashtabula County and brought back new ideas that will help us continue creating new possibilities and strengthening supports for people with developmental disabilities.

Did you see the Early Intervention (EI) success story featuring Noelle in our April newsletter? If not, check out her story below!

Meet Noelle, one of our Early Intervention children! Over the past two years, Noelle and her family have experienced meaningful growth with the support of Early Intervention. From the very beginning, the program provided more than just services for Noelle, it offered guidance, reassurance, and practical tools that supported the entire family. These strategies quickly became part of their daily routines, helping them feel more confident in supporting Noelle both at home and in the community.
