It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here.
For those of you who have wondered where I disappeared to, I’ve been taking some much-needed time away from individual sessions and allowing myself the space to listen—to myself, to nature, and to what wants to come next for Wisdom Tree Wellness.
I’ve been spending time with the energy and the Practical Magic of herbs and native prairie plants. I have to confess that lately I talk to the plants, bugs, butterflies, birds and bees sometimes more than people. During the growing season, most of my mornings I have been in the garden tending to the vegetables and creating pockets of herbal sanctuaries.
Thirty lavender plants. Variety of herbs— Lemon Verbena, Lemon Balm, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. Eleven young elderberry plants, now two years old. This year, for the first time, I harvested both elderflowers and berries.
That dark, almost blood-colored berries sparked something old and ancient in me—in a witchy kind of way. You know that Women Who Run With the Wolves, feel-it-deep-in-your-bones kind of feeling.
When I have time to step outside the garden gate, I wander the prairie land like a child, full of wonder and downright giddy at the incredible variety of native prairie plants growing. Next year, I hope to spend more time documenting them throughout the seasons and deepening my role of stewardship to the land.
This year, Blue Vervain spoke to my soul, and I listened.
I made a tincture and began exploring this beautiful plant traditionally used by herbalists as a nervine. What was calling me most was its connection to hormonal health especially for stress, anxiety and irritability, and what I’m just going to go ahead and call…RAGE.
Or perhaps it’s less “rage” and more:
I am no longer going to tolerate bu****it.
Haha. Maybe some of you know the feeling. 😉
Working with the land is hard physical labor. It takes dedication, patience, sweat and getting dirty. Alongside that, I’ve also been doing part-time private companion care for the elderly—to pay the bills and such while I figure out this next chapter.
So, I apologize for disappearing and not posting or communicating much. I needed the solitude. I needed to get dirty and sweaty. And I needed time to figure out what comes next for Wisdom Tree Wellness.
One thing I know for certain: my passion is no longer in individual sessions.
As things around the garden continue to settle and I have more time to feed that spark of creativity, I feel drawn toward creating healing, soul-nourishing group experiences. I don’t know the timing or exactly what those will look like yet—and for once, I’m allowing that to be okay.
Another interesting discovery this year came through taking a Human Design class at Jenstar Movement Studio. (FYI- they will be hosting those classes again soon. I highly recommend learning your Human Design). I learned that I’m a Reflector—a rare bird, alien, unicorn…whatever you want to call it. 😂 Reflectors make up only about 1% of humanity.
Learning that as a Reflector all of my energy centers are open like an open vessel—sampling the energy of others and the environment around me so I can mirror that back to the individual providing to them deep Wisdom. This has given me a new understanding of how I experience others and the world.
If you’ve ever been on my massage table, you might be saying, “Well…that makes total sense.”
Maybe part of the mystery has been solved—why I seemed to find just the right spot, sense what was happening beneath the surface, or somehow knew what you needed to hear.
And add my Cancer Rising into the mix—that instinct to hold a safe, nurturing space for healing—and suddenly pieces of my life and who I am are fitting together in a new way.
To everyone who has trusted me over the years, whether I helped you find relief from everyday stress or held space beside you during a much deeper healing journey—thank you.
Thank you for blessing me with the opportunity to serve you.
This past year has been its own season of change for me. I’ve been slowly letting go of an old identity and an old way of operating my business while learning to accept the person I’m becoming.
I’m learning patience.
I’m learning to honor the rhythms, cycles and seasons.
And instead of rushing to know exactly what comes next, trusting the unknown.
Maybe that’s what this season is asking of all of us.
The leaves are about to show us just how beautiful letting go can be. 🍁🍂
Maybe there are things you are ready to release, identities you have outgrown, or parts of yourself you are finally ready to let show.
Here’s to letting go and trusting what grows next. 🌿
With love,
Wisdom Tree Wellness
