I still can’t believe I’m old enough to be someone’s mom, let alone 3! Welcome to the fam, Emma. We’re so happy and grateful you’re here :)

Happy 4th birthday to our Mauricio!!! You’re the sweetest, most delicious boy a mom could ask for. I love you!

And mom-tip - do a professional shoot (at least) once a year - we love you

So many thoughts on this. Yes - those on a birth control pill should question what issues it’s masking, and the only way to find out is by coming off of it. But also, we need to tread carefully when it comes to DIY wellness and consumer diagnostics. The “so what” is missing completely and people are guessing their way through wellness, often doing more harm to their health than good. Invest in functional lab work with ongoing oversight and monitoring from a trusted care team. One without the other isn’t going to get you the results you’ve been hustling for.

I just got my bloodwork done at .lanby to set a baseline before starting a new wellness protocol. Without testing, I would have no way to measure the impact of these changes on my health.

Why am I starting a new protocol?
I recently did a genetic test .lanby and learned I’m predisposed to:
• Higher inflammation + histamine overload
• Slower methylation + detox
• Higher cardiovascular + dementia risk (APOE3/E4)

Pairing genetics with labs is the key to prioritizing your prevention plan. Your genes show the blueprint. Your labs show what’s actually happening now. Both together = precision prevention.

For me, that means:
• More omega-3s + soluble fiber
• Earlier caffeine cutoff
• Zone 2 + strength training
• A more tailored supplement plan
(Just to name a few…)

If you’ve been thinking about getting your labs done — do it before you “optimize.” Baseline → intervention → re-test. Otherwise you’re just guessing.

If you’ve reached a healthy baseline and want to optimize: consider genetic testing to guide where to focus next.

I usually opt for eggs in the morning, but one day a week, I make waffles for the whole fam. Boosting the protein content helps keep my blood sugar stable (+ I’m always finding ways to sneak more protein into my kids’ diet).

PROTEIN POWDER WAFFLES
1 scoop of protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) - I use
3 eggs
1 cup of oats
1 banana
Optional add-ins: almond butter, chia/flax/hemp seeds, spinach, cottage cheese, sun fiber
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla (unless you’re using vanilla flavored protein)
Splash of water
Blend in nutribullet
Add small amounts of water as needed to get the consistency right (should be like a thick smoothie)
Add in unsweetened dark chocolate chips

If you have advice on how to manage trick or treating with your kids (to avoid the seemingly inevitable obsession with sugar), help me!

If you’ve ever done a diagnostic test and then asked yourself, “so what now?”, this is for you.

Data without guidance is just data. Longevity clinics love to sell the promise of “comprehensive insight” but more results don’t automatically translate to better health. What matters is knowing which results are actionable, and having a trusted team to help you interpret and apply them. That’s where your dollars should go: not into a one-time bundle of diagnostics, but into an ongoing relationship with a proactive team that can decipher which tests are worth your time, provide broader context using the other data they’ve gathered about you, and turn that cohesive analysis into an actionable plan.

I’ve always done berry crumbles, but for the first I only used strawberries and realized it’s a lot less tarty and more sweet (without any added sweetener). A guaranteed crowd pleaser for dessert, but also a great granola substitute with yogurt for breakfast.

Berry (vegan and gluten free) crumble:

Strawberry filling:
(Fresh or frozen)
Splash with vanilla and cinnamon
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes

For the crumble topping:
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup almond flour
⅓ cup coconut oil, melted
1.5 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 cup of shredded coconut
Combine to top the strawberries.
Bake together for another 30 minutes

Serve with vanilla ice cream (for dessert) or greek yogurt (for breakfast).

At 23, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.

I thought the hardest part would be treatment — losing my hair, my appetite, my innocence.

I was wrong. Life after cancer was harder.

I wanted to take control, to stay healthy. But when I asked my doctors how to prevent it from coming back, I got blank stares. No plan. No guidance.

So I turned to Google, podcasts, and “biohacks.”
I cut carbs, fasted, exercised daily, took every supplement.

I thought I was healing — but instead, I lost my period and my fertility.

No one was tracking my data, my hormones, my health.
No one was connecting the dots.

Ten years later, I founded The Lanby — to build the kind of primary care I wish I had: personalized, data-driven, and coordinated around prevention.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, don’t just be aware — be proactive.
Know your baseline. Understand your risks.
And take steps that are measured, not random.
Because prevention isn’t a guessing game. It’s a plan.
