During a difficult postpartum appointment a dad asked me, “Will you please pray for us? The way you did during her birth was… so… so .. peaceful.”
This question caught me off guard for a moment- Maybe because I had never been asked that before by a dad. Maybe it was because I could hear his heart of appreciation and trembling at the same time. Maybe it was because I was honored to pray over this baby and parents.
Praying over a mom and baby is something I do regularly, both in private and during a challenging moment. But something about that specific moment has had me pondering. I cannot pinpoint why. I do know God has laid these precious families on my path and I don’t take that for granted. Not only do we get to serve them but we are ALSO forever changed, with each one. When two or more believers join in prayer, to the one who created them, honoring this perfect design, honoring the precious life within, it is a special gift for my faith. Those prayers don’t ever feel the same to me as other conversations with my Savior. Thank YOU to the families who grow my faith!
Also, it is the same family who had this shirt made for me. 😍
