Today would have been Cohen's 12th birthday. Some have asked if they can donate money to a cause in his memory. Below is a statement from his mother:
"Cohen would have turned 12 years old on August 28th. In honor of his 12th birthday and International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st, we are setting our first big goal: to raise $12,000 to begin building the programs, resources and community partnerships that will carry his legacy forward.
We can't change what happened to Cohen, but we can choose what we do with his story. Our hope is that his life continues to make a difference so that another child is reached sooner, another family knows where to turn and another life is saved.
This is Cohen's legacy and the beginning of Rhodes to Hope. We're just getting started."
