Jennifer Singh, Associate Professor in the School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech, investigates the social, cultural, and political intersections of genetics, health, and society. This project was born from her research on the structural inequities to autism diagnosis and services.

Sleep away summer camps are a great way for our kids to practice being away from home. While there are limited options for camp, see what's available in your area. It's so important for our kids to learn to be away from mom or dad, learn new skills, meet new friends and learn to ask for help and support from other adults. If you have the option to send your child to camp, take it! Is it hard? Yes, but parents also need a bit of respite. For some Georgia camp options, please send me a message.

You can start the guardianship process 6 months before your child turns 18. You can hire an attorney or file the paperwork on your own through your county probate court.

Did you know that applying for SSI for your adult child has a bit of a trick? You should wait 31 days after their 18th birthday so SSI doesn't look at the parent's income, just the child's income which is typically zero or very low.
