The Instagram protein egg bake! Yes, it works and it's delicious. Of course, I altered it for a low-sodium version. Scroll through pics to see substituted ingredients. 😊

Ingredients:
1 large low sodium cassava tortilla (mine are 60 mg for one small tortilla)
2 eggs
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup power greens - torn into small pieces
1 asparagus spear
1 green onion
1 oz goat cheese

Whisk eggs together with yogurt and add veggies. Top with goat cheese and bake in air fryer for 16 minutes at 350 degrees. If it starts to brown too much, wrap in aluminum foil for final minutes.

245 mg of sodium for the entire dish!

A brand-new study from Johns Hopkins—published June 9 in JAMA Internal Medicine—shows that a low‑sodium DASH4D diet significantly lowers blood pressure in people with type 2 diabetes. Participants experienced an average drop of 4.6 mmHg systolic and 2.3 mmHg diastolic compared to a higher‑sodium DASH diet in just 5 weeks.

A 5‑point drop in systolic pressure can cut stroke risk by 14%, major cardiovascular events by 6%, and heart failure by 8%.

I can't believe I haven't posted about these bars yet! Step One Foods makes these yummy bars (the dark chocolate walnut seems like a candy bar!). Another Instagram recipe experiment...spaghetti squash with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese. This was super easy with minimal prep!

Cut a spaghetti squash in half and remove inside. Brush with olive oil, then sprinkle with goat cheese (mine is only 55 mg per 1 Tablespoon). Mix some cherry tomatoes with olive oil, fresh basil and crushed red pepper. Spoon into each half of squash, then bake at 400 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Scrape squash with forks and mix together. Voila! An easy lunch or dinner with very low sodium!

Yes, you can find low sodium frozen meals at Lidl markets too! This creamy mushroom risotto is made with whole food ingredients like rice, cream and cheese and only has 200 mg of sodium per 1 cup serving. I was surprised at how incredibly delicious it is!
