One of the biggest mistakes golfers make is thinking the golf swing is purely rotational.

In reality, your spine likes to move in patterns.

Rotation and side bending are naturally coupled motions, meaning they often work together rather than independently.

That’s one reason I like this exercise so much. It can be done seated, or this high lunge position forces your lower body to stabilize and balance while your upper half moves.

I use this one as:
⛳ a warm-up before golf
⛳ a movement snack during the workday
⛳ a reset between holes
⛳ a general mobility exercise on non-golf days

The goal isn’t to crank yourself into more range of motion.

The goal is to give your body opportunities to move the way it was designed to move.

Motion is lotion. ⛳

When Bradley first came to me, he was struggling with SI joint pain, persistent hamstring tightness, and inconsistent play. He knew his body was holding him back, but he wasn’t sure exactly where to focus his efforts.

We started by identifying the movement patterns that were limiting his swing and building a golf-specific program that fit his schedule and supported his goals. Just as importantly, Bradley understood why he was doing each exercise and how it connected to his game.

It wasn’t about doing more- he was already putting in solid time at the gym. It was about doing the right things consistently.

Then things started to change.

His SI joint pain disappeared. His hamstring symptoms improved significantly. He started loading into his left side better than ever before and noticed his swing felt more repeatable.

From there, we continued building strength, mobility, and movement capacity while adjusting the program to support both performance and longevity.

Fast forward to today: Bradley has no SI joint pain, only mild hamstring tightness that no longer limits his swing, is hitting the ball farther, and feels more consistent on the course.

The biggest lesson?

Your body is part of your equipment. When you improve the body swinging the club, every club in the bag has the opportunity to perform better.

If you’re ready to take your golf game to the next level and get results like Bradley, comment the word “RESULTS” 💪⛳

I love golf, and the incredible things it can do for people.

Friendships.
Competition.
Purpose.
Time outside.
A reason to keep moving and taking care of yourself.

But there are parts of golf culture that need to be called out.

Treating pain like a badge of honor.
Waiting until you’re injured to do something about it.
Making women feel like they need to prove they belong.
Believing golf itself is enough to keep your body strong and resilient.

And maybe the one I disagree with most:
That hurting is just the price you pay for getting older and playing golf.

I don’t buy that for a second. ⛳

An underrated cheat code in golf longevity:

Stay consistent with the boring things.

2–3 short workouts.
5-minute movement snacks.
Walking more.

It goes so much further than you think.

Those small things build something that no supplement, quick fix, or 30-day challenge can replicate. Capacity. They create a body that moves better, recovers better, tolerates more golf, and stays in the game longer.

It’s easy to skip these basics…or let them slip. But the people who do not miss these are usually the ones still feeling strong, moving well, and enjoying the game years later.
