The countdown to Jingle Bell Run season is on! 🔔

Join us on Tuesday, October 20th, at 7:00 PM EST for a special virtual kickoff as we officially launch this year's Jingle Bell Run/Walk season.

We’re proud to introduce Megan, our 2026 Charlotte Jingle Bell Run Adult Honoree.

Megan was diagnosed with polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis when she was just two years old. Because she was so young, doctor visits, medications, blood draws, injections, physical therapy and flare-ups were simply part of growing up.

Over the years, arthritis affected many of her joints, but it never got to make the decisions about what her life would look like.

Her parents enrolled her in dance to help keep her joints moving, and what began as a way to stay active became one of the biggest passions of her life. Megan went on to dance competitively, major in dance at the University of South Carolina, perform as a backup dancer for Weird Al Yankovic, and teach and coach dance after college.

Today, at 30 years old, Megan’s arthritis is in remission. She stays active, travels, takes on new challenges and continues to prove just how much is possible while living with arthritis.

“I’m honored to share my story because I hope it gives families a little reassurance. A Juvenile Arthritis diagnosis doesn’t mean a child has to put limits on their future.”

Megan’s story is a powerful reminder that arthritis can be invisible, lifelong and incredibly complex—but it does not have to define what comes next.

We wrapped up the summer season just like that, and Raleigh Jingle Bell Run Teen Honoree, Aubrey, has been hard at work rallying support for her team, Aubrey’s Running Reindeer!

This summer, Aubrey took her fundraising efforts to the next level by hosting two lemonade stands — one at Cary Swim Club and another at Drees Homes. The generosity and support from her community was unwavering, and every cup of lemonade helped raise funds and awareness for the millions of people living with arthritis, including hundreds of thousands of children.

We are SO proud of Aubrey and her entire team, Aubrey’s Running Reindeer! We can’t wait to celebrate all they’ve accomplished at the Jingle Bell Run.

We’re so proud to introduce Emmy, our 2026 Charlotte Jingle Bell Run Youth Honoree!

Emmy was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis just before her second birthday. Before her diagnosis, she was struggling to walk and living with severe pain. After months of appointments, testing and her family advocating for answers, they finally learned what was causing it: JIA.

Since then, Emmy has faced weekly injections, blood draws, physical and occupational therapy, and countless doctor visits. Through it all, she has remained happy, silly and incredibly determined.

Today, thanks to treatment, an amazing medical team and the support of her family and friends, Emmy is running, jumping and enjoying being a kid. JIA is part of her story, but it does not define her.

After participating in last year’s Jingle Bell Run, Emmy is especially excited to serve as this year’s Youth Honoree. She hopes her story helps raise awareness for juvenile arthritis and supports the search for better treatments and, one day, a cure.
