Insurance verification is the number one PREVENTABLE cause of claim denials.

And yet we see practices skip steps all the time, especially for returning patients. ('We already verified them last month!' Trust us, verify again.)

Here's what should be confirmed before every patient visit:

✓Is the policy currently active?

✓Does the plan include your specialty benefits?

✓What's the deductible and how much has been met?

✓What's the copay or coinsurance amount?

✓How many chiropractic visits are allowed, and how many are remaining?

✓Is a referral or prior authorization required?

✓Who did you speak to, and what's the reference number?

That last one is KEY. If a payer ever disputes your claim, that reference number is your proof.
