As we move into the end of the year, things can get a little crazy. There always seems like there are a million things to do and not enough time to finish things and sometimes that turns into us having what we call productivity guilt. Productivity guilt is a mindset of feeling bad if we are not working hard or achieving our goals. It can lead to unpleasant thoughts of not feeling good enough no matter how hard we try or how much we get done, we cannot be successful. Sometimes this guilt of not “doing enough” can be draining, exhausting and lead us to a state of paralysis where we don't do anything at all. I know for me I sometimes fall into paralysis where I don’t do anything at all.

So, what are some things that we can do to help manage those feelings that may arise when we may have productivity guilt.

Take Breaks: Recognize that taking breaks DOES NOT mean that you are lazy. In fact, taking small breaks throughout your day can actually increase your productivity and help you to prevent losing your concentration and focus.

Tip: Learn to recognize when you need a break, a rest and a recharge. This will help prevent burnout for yourself. Give yourself 5-15 minutes to switch yourself off for every hour that you work. Do something for yourself to let your body and brain chill out such as deep breathing, stretching, or a quick walk outdoors if possible.

Understand that being “busy” can quickly lead to overwhelm and burnout for yourself. I encourage you to start to learn the difference for yourself between “Being Busy” and "Being Productive.”

Some examples of “Being Busy” can mean having too many priorities, too much multitasking, and working too long without taking any breaks. “Being Productive” in our day means we are completing tasks based on their importance with purpose, maintaining our focus, working efficiently within the time we have so that we get our desired outcomes. We are also taking breaks so that we are able to maintain our level of focus and concentration throughout the day.

I encourage you to utilize some of these tips if they resonate with you and I hope that they may help you if you find yourself feeling guilty about your productivity.

In our pursuit of productivity, it's crucial to embrace a mindset that combines efficiency with empathy and use of our self-care as a productive catalyst. Efficiency is not about relentless perfectionism; it's about making meaningful progress while maintaining a compassionate approach toward yourself. Understand that setbacks are not failures but opportunities for growth. When we start to weave empathy into our productivity journey, we foster a culture of self-compassion, resilience, and a deeper understanding of our own capabilities.

With self-care, realize that it isn't a detour from your productivity; it's the very road that leads to sustainable success. It’s the catalyst that fuels your productivity. Taking intentional breaks, practicing mindfulness, and honoring your well-being aren't distractions; they are essential elements that enhance focus, creativity, and overall performance. When you prioritize self-care, you invest in your most valuable asset – yourself. It's not just about being busy; it's about being purposeful and nurturing the roots from which your productivity blossoms. Remember, a well-nurtured self is the cornerstone of enduring success.

By marrying efficiency with empathy and viewing self-care as a productive catalyst, you cultivate a lifestyle of balanced achievement, emotional intelligence, and sustainable success!

Who would you be if you truly did not care what anyone else thought? What would you say? How would you show up? What would you do? Sit with this sometime and think about it; because we all tend to withhold who we are because we may be afraid or worried about what others may think of us.

But what if you didn’t. What if none of that mattered and you just showed up as you and did what your heart desired and were authentically who you wanted to be? What if you just didn’t care what anyone else thought?

See what comes up for you when you ask yourself this; you may be surprised. This can be a super powerful way to start to understand yourself better, and to gain a little more clarity around what it is you want in your current life.

Hi there, beautiful souls! I want to open up and share a little piece of my journey with you. Because let's face it, life's a wild ride, and we're all in this together, right?

For the longest time, self-doubt was like an unwelcome companion in my mind, whispering things like "you're not good enough" or "you can't do it." Well, guess what? I'm finally at a point where I can kick that doubt to the curb and declare that I am enough, just as I am. Don’t get me wrong I have moments everyday where something comes up where that little doubt likes to creep in, but I am much better now at dismissing it and moving into what I am trying to create.

Every morning, I sit with myself, and I work through visualizing what it is I am working on creating in my life. I envision what it feels like to have what it is I am creating, and I have the knowing that it will come into fruition. When I say knowing, it's a deep heart felt know inside that tells me that what I am creating is 100% coming to me. There is no “if” there is no “doubt,” it will be coming. It is not up to me to figure out the how, (although sometimes I try and figure that out, but it just delays things). It’s the understanding that I am worthy of what I am creating and that I feel it with all my being that it is coming to me. This is my daily ritual of self-love through self-talk.

I used to see my flaws as stumbling blocks. Now? I see them as part of this uniquely imperfect masterpiece that is me. Each scar, each quirk tells a story, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Saying "no" isn't a sign of weakness; it's an assertion of boundaries. Learning to say no to self-doubt was a game-changer. It made space for a resounding "yes" to my worth and potential. Knowing that my mistakes were not failures; they were steppingstones to growth. Instead of beating myself up over them, I've learned to treat myself with compassion.

And let's talk about my support squad – these incredible humans who believe in me. Their confidence in me often becomes the boost I need to continue to move forward.

So, here's to breaking free from the chains of self-doubt! Remember, you're not alone in this journey, and you are stronger than you think. Tag someone who needs a reminder that they're amazing just as they are!

How are you when you are feeling overwhelmed? When we experience overwhelm, I always find it helpful to assess where my boundaries are and if I am being true to the boundaries that I set forth with myself. Creating and maintaining healthy boundaries can be a game-changer when it comes to managing stress and overwhelm.

Boundaries are actions that we can put into place in order for us to gain clarity about where we are spending our energy, time, and resources. Boundaries are important because they allow others to respect and value us, because we also value ourselves.

Here's why:

Protecting Your Peace:
Boundaries are like a shield that safeguards your mental and emotional well-being. They create a safe space for your peace to flourish. Give yourself permission to pause before making decisions and be able to take full inventory of your energy, resources and most importantly your time. If you give from nothing or exhaustion, , many times we end up giving from a place of resentment. But by taking the extra time to think about something that someone may be asking you to do allows you to assess how much bandwidth you have to give and then you can decide that it’s ok to give. From this place you are doing or giving because you have the energy.

Prioritize Self-Care:
Setting limits allows you to make self-care non-negotiable. When you prioritize your well-being, you're better equipped to handle life's challenges. Take a look at your calendar and make sure that you have time for you. If there is no time for you on your calendar, then you are giving out of obligation. Again this can lead to resentment later on and you feeling unappreciated. Make yourself a priority, it’s ok to put yourself first. Giving from a cup that is overflowing is much easier than one that is empty.

Boost Productivity:
Clear boundaries improve your focus. You can channel your energy into what truly matters, rather than getting lost in distractions. Look at every decision that you make from the lens of what your priorities are. What is important to you? Look at each of those things and see if you have boundaries in place to make sure that you are on track to accomplish those things.

Reduce Conflict: Establishing boundaries can help avoid misunderstandings and conflicts, leading to smoother relationships and less stress.

How to Set Boundaries:

Identify What Matters: Determine what is truly important to you and your well-being.
Communicate Clearly: Express your boundaries respectfully but firmly. Effective communication is key.
Learn to Say No: Understand that saying "no" when necessary is an act of self-love, not selfishness.
Be Consistent: Stick to your boundaries and expect others to respect them as well.

As you create and honor your boundaries, you'll have more time and energy for what brings you joy, and you'll be better equipped to handle life's challenges with grace. There are many ways you can set boundaries, but starting with being clear of what you need and prioritizing yourself first is a first step!

As we immerse ourselves in the holiday season, let's talk about the art of managing your energy during this time. It's not just about surviving the holiday season; I want to make sure that you are thriving through the festivities. Here are some tips to keep your energy vibrant and your spirits high!

Set Priorities and Boundaries Mindfully: The holiday season often comes with a flurry of activities. Prioritize and set boundaries with what truly matters to you, and gracefully decline commitments that may drain your energy. Remember, saying 'no' is a form of self-care and it’s okay if you don’t want to attend every event that you may have. This is especially true if the event does not feel to you good to attend.

Create Moments of Serenity: Amid the holiday hustle, carve out pockets of peace. Whether it's a quiet cup of tea, a brisk walk-in nature, or a few minutes of deep breathing, find moments to center yourself and replenish your energy.

Nourish Your Body and Soul: Enjoy the festive treats, but also prioritize nourishing foods. Hydrate, include colorful fruits and veggies, and savor the joy of balanced nutrition. A well-nourished body contributes to a more energized spirit.

Limit Screen Time: Give yourself the gift of digital detox moments. Set boundaries on screen time, especially during family gatherings. Engage in face-to-face conversations and savor the magic of the present moment.

Remember, managing your energy is a gift to yourself and those around you. Make this holiday season not just joyful, but also filled with vibrant, positive energy!
