Black women, there is a THIEF LIVING IN YOUR PHONE...

Comparison πŸ₯΄

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: Comparison Is the Thief of Joy

We live in a world of curated highlight reels. Someone else's promotion. Someone else's relationship, body, home, business, peace. And it is all right there, filtered and framed and waiting for you to measure yourself against it.

But, no one can do what you do, the way you do it‼️

Stay in your lane, Sis. Not because you are not capable of more, but because your lane is the only place where everything you were made to do can fully come alive.

Now if you need more positivity on your timeline daily, a reminder of your value amongst all the noise telling you otherwise, FOLLOW me for more content made by a sista like you for sistas like you.

92% of Black women showed up to the polls and voted against this administration β€” and still, before the ink was dry, people were asking when we were going to show up to support their cause. As if we hadn't already. As if we aren't always already there, holding the line for everyone while quietly wondering who is holding it for us.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: Be Your Own Peace

You have given enough. It is not selfish to finally, fully, choose you.

When was the last time you let yourself want something fully, without immediately talking yourself out of it?

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: Your Dreams Are Valid

Black woman, your dreams are valid. Every single one of them. Don't settle for a life, create the one you desire!

When was the last time you did something and actually let it be enough? Not good enough. Not good enough considering the circumstances. Just... enough.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: Release Perfectionism

You don't have to be perfect to be worthy. Dismiss what those red pill bros and pick-mes say.

There is a difference between "I made a mistake" and "I am a mistake." One leads to growth. The other keeps you stuck. This is what self-love actually sounds like.

Black woman, you are not the roles that you wear.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: You Are Not What You Do

Who are you when you're not being somebody's mother? When you're not showing up as somebody's partner? When you clock out and the professional title gets left at the door? When nobody needs anything from you and nobody is watching?

The woman underneath all the roles is the treasure πŸ₯°

Black woman, when was the last time you allowed yourself to experience joy without guilt?

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm writing daily love letters to you, Sis.

Today's letter is: Joy Is Your Birthright.

Somewhere along the way, many Black women were taught that our value lives in what we produce, how much we can endure, and how well we can hold everything together. We became experts at pushing through. We learned how to overfunction. We learned how to keep showing up even when we were tired, overwhelmed, grieving, anxious, or emotionally depleted.

In a world that has often expected Black women to survive more than we should have ever had to survive, joy becomes an act of resistance.Joy disrupts the belief that your value only exists in your labor. Joy reminds you that your life is not just something to endure. It is something you are allowed to experience fully.

Black woman, the world has already placed enough pressure, scrutiny, and impossible expectations on you. You do not need to become another voice tearing yourself apart. Speak to yourself with the same compassion you so freely give to everyone else.

How many times have you known the answer and stayed quiet? Had the idea and watched someone else say it louder while you questioned whether you should speak at all? Had a truth resting heavily on your spirit and swallowed it just to keep the peace?

Today's Letter Is: Your Voice Matters.

I hope you stop apologizing for taking up space.I hope you stop questioning whether your voice deserves to be heard.I hope you remember that your voice carries insight, clarity, creativity, power, and possibility.
