📌 They belong to the same group of antibiotics called macrolides, which work by stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying in the body.

♠️ 1. Azithromycin
📌 Azithromycin is a modern macrolide antibiotic that is commonly used because it has fewer side effects and a shorter treatment course.

📌 Uses:
- Respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)
- Typhoid fever
- Chlamydia
- Ear infections
- Throat infections
- Skin infections

📌 Common adult dose (example):
500 mg once daily for 3–5 days depending on the infection.

♠️ 2. Erythromycin
📌 Erythromycin is an older macrolide antibiotic but still useful for many bacterial infections.

📌 Uses:
- Respiratory tract infections
- Skin infections
- Pertussis (whooping cough)
- Eye infections (as eye ointment)
- Alternative for people allergic to Penicillin

📌 Common adult dose (example):
250–500 mg every 6 hours depending on the infection.
