Older Americans Month is celebrated every May to recognize the contributions, wisdom, and experience of older adults. ☺️
Led by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) since 1963, it is meant to honor older Americans, highlight their achievements, and reaffirm commitments to supporting them.
This year's theme is "Champion Your Health," focusing on prevention, wellness, and taking an active role in managing health.
It encourages taking an active role in managing your own health, advocating for yourself, accessing preventive care, and making informed decisions that support independence.
We know a spry 82-year-old dancing 3 hours a day, twice a week. Another 80-year-old golfing one to two times per week, and a 75 year-old that shares how travel keeps her young.
What are you doing to be a champion of your health?
