Hi Atlanta!
You haven't heard from me in much too long so let's catch up. A month ago I got hired to teach massage therapy full-time. So your girl is back in the classroom, occasionally bringing up poems, but now helping the next generation of licensed massage therapists on their healing journeys. Massage school was transformational for me. I muse daily about the fact that I have no idea who I would be today had I not gone to massage school. Everything in my life I damn near owe to massage from the roof over my head to my way of being in relationship with others. Being back in the classroom has been a whirlwind of re-acquainting myself with administrative duties, ATL traffic, and of course all the science I don't know since it's just my job five days a week.
For my massage colleagues who have asked, I am teaching Axial and Appendicular Anatomy & Physiology, Axial and Appendicular Swedish Massage, Body Systems, and Spa Modalities (which includes Hot Stone Massage and Reflexology).
When I applied to teach, it was for a subbing position; however, after my interview I was immediately offered full-time. Knowing it would likely be my last opportunity for awhile, I quickly set to work painting my massage room before I was locked in to my new schedule. If you followed along in stories you already saw that process a month ago. And if you did or didn't enjoy these results!
I'd love for you to enjoy them in person. The energy of the room has completely shifted. The light through the windows plays with the lilac color in a way that brings an energized calm (oxymoronic, but true) to the space. You have to feel it in person. Getting on the book requires a little more advanced notice than it used to. Same day bookings are rarely available now as the business hours have been shortened to accommodate my teaching schedule so be sure you lock in your spot before someone else swipes it.
Business Hours:
Mon-Fri: 4:30pm-8:30pm
Sat & Sun: 9:30am-7:30pm
I love you all so much! Thank you for supporting me and the business 11 years strong now 💜 I wouldn't be here without y'all!
