researchers found that having a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar or clinical depression can increase a person's risk for Long COVID?
In a recent publication (Schizophrenia, bipolar, or major depressive order and postacute sequelae of COVID-19), researchers found that this risk may be due to stress and the impact to one's immune system that serious mental illnesses may cause.

that routine lab tests may not help to diagnose Long COVID?
In a recent publication (Differentiation of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and postacute sequelae by standard clinical laboratory measurements in the RECOVER cohort), researchers found that there were no significant differences among the blood tests results of persons living with and without Long COVID.

there may be a connection between Long COVID and chronic kidney disease (CKD)?
In a recent publication (The association of Long COVID and CKD: Findings from the National Clinical Cohort Collaborative [N3C]), researchers studied electronic health records and found that compared to those without CKD, those with CKD were more likely to get Long COVID after having COVID 19 and compared to those who did not get Long COVID, those who got Long COVID were more likely to newly develop CKD or have worsened kidney function within a year.

In a recent publication (Olfactory Dysfunction After SARS-CoV-2 Infection in the RECOVER Adult Cohort), researchers look at COVID-related smell loss and changes among participants.

RECOVER-SLEEP is studying possible treatments, also called study interventions, for sleep disturbances related to Long COVID. These studies will include adults who had COVID and still have problems falling and staying asleep, feel very sleepy or tired during the day, or have an irregular sleep-wake schedule.

Long COVID affects the quality of life of millions of people in the United States, and researchers want to learn if the study programs improve sleep disturbances in people who have Long COVID.

Your participation matters! Learn more about RECOVER-SLEEP at trials.recovercovid.org/SLEEP and contact us at bit.ly/recoverctinatlanta

With your help, we can better understand why and how Long COVID affects people in different ways and explore possible treatments. This research study may help you, your loved ones, and community members with Long COVID.

RECOVER clinical trials are designed as platform trials, a type of clinical trial that lets researchers study different interventions, or possible treatments, at the same time. Each clinical trial will focus on a group of symptoms, and multiple interventions may be studied within each focus area.

If you or a loved one are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please consider participating in the RECOVER-ENERGIZE study:

ยท Shortness of breath or fatigue during physical activity
ยท Worsened symptoms even after minor physical, mental, or emotional activity

RECOVER-AUTONOMIC is studying possible treatments for adults who have an autonomic nervous system disorder, called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), related to Long COVID.

This study includes adults who had COVID and who still have 1 or more of these autonomic dysfunction symptoms when they stand up from sitting or lying down:

> Fast Heart Rate
> Dizziness
> Fatigue
