in a patriarchal society, many women were taught to believe that femininity is tied to the length of our hair — that longer somehow means softer, prettier, or more womanly.
and although I love my long hair, cutting it made me feel free.🕊️
free from feeling like my femininity had to fit society’s definition of beauty instead of my own. because how i present myself does matter to me — not from a place of seeking validation, but from a place of self-expression, self-care, and feeling aligned in my mind, body, and spirit. i love feeling beautiful, grounded, feminine, and fully myself… and i’ve learned that energy doesn’t come from the length (or color) of my hair, it comes from within. femininity is an energy. (and hey, hair grows back🤷🏾♀️)
and listen - this short hair has been a blessing in some of this spring/summer heat, with hot flashes, and working over hot wax pots and steamers in my skincare studio. 😅😂
either way, i still feel soft. i still feel s*xy. i still feel deeply feminine.
this is your reminder that whether you wear your hair long, short, or in between — your energy is what people feel first. your confidence. your essence. your presence. not the length of your hair. so don’t forget to work on that also.
sis, wear your hair in the way that makes you feel the most free, the most aligned, and the most like yourself. that is the real glow. ✨
