the older i get, the more i realize that true beauty has very little to do with perfection… and everything to do with how deeply you care for yourself.

the truth is - real glow is found in the way you speak to yourself, the way you nourish your body, protect your peace, honor your femininity, and allow yourself to evolve without shame.

aging vibrantly is a privilege. glowing intentionally is a lifestyle, and i think every woman deserves to feel beautiful in every season of her life.

body| sis, this is your reminder to stay on top of your vaginal and reproductive health — especially during menopause. hormonal changes can increase vaginal dryness, UTIs, changes in pH, discomfort during intimacy, and even raise the risk of infections if we’re not paying attention to our bodies.

menopause can also impact blood pressure and heart health, making regular wellness visits even more important during this season of life.

for some women, (as in my case) conversations around HRT (hormone replacement therapy) can also be an important part of managing symptoms, protecting quality of life, and supporting overall wellness during menopause.

these conversations and checkups matter more than many of us realize. this Saturday, (May 23rd), my sister would have been turning 57. She lost her life to cervical cancer, and moments like this remind me just how important it is for us as women to stay proactive about our health.

cervical cancer is highly linked to HPV, one of the most common s*xually transmitted infections. in fact, nearly 80% of women will be exposed to HPV at some point in their lives, which is why routine exams and screenings matter so much.

it’s also a reminder that practicing safe s*x (or abstaining), having open and honest conversations with your partner, and staying informed about your body are all part of protecting your health. early detection can save your life.

your annual exam isn’t “just a checkup” — it’s prevention, early detection, education, and self-care.💞

aging vibrantly also means taking care of the parts of ourselves we don’t always talk about openly. your health, comfort, confidence, and peace matter too.🌬️💎

question: when was the last time you prioritized your health without putting everyone else first?

let this be your reminder to book the appointment, ask the questions, and stay connected to your body. your wellness deserves attention at every age. 💛✨

i wasn’t always in harmony with myself let alone my spirit and, to tell the truth, i am still learning, growing and evolving. most of my life I felt like a fish out of water - just flipping and flopping around any which way the wind blew me. in essence, I had no real direction. it wasn’t until i started my heartwork that my real journey to my authentic self began. i can tell you that it hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been well worth it and, it feels good to feel good about myself and, walk in my own truth and essence of who i am...a spiritual being - continuously flowing (growing/ever-changing/moving)
like a river...

life really does come full circle…

i remember when I was a little girl, i used to help roll my granny’s salt + pepper hair in foam rollers. she lived to be 91, and looking back now, i realize that small old school beauty ritual taught me so much about caring for yourself with softness and intention.

i had to laugh at myself, because now here i am at 54, in my comfy robe, sitting with foam rollers in my own hair, smiling at how they found their way to me😂

but i’m thankful for those moments + memories.

deep thought: the older i get, the more i grow to appreciate the little things that i took for granted when i was younger.
and there is beauty in still showing up for yourself, still taking care of yourself, still feeling vibrant and alive.💛

what’s an old school beauty ritual or lesson you still carry with you today? please share it below. let’s glow together.✨

sometimes peace comes when we finally stop trying to control everything around us. people will make their own choices, walk their own paths, and become who they choose to be.

the glow comes when you release the need to force, fix, or manage it all — and instead pour that energy back into yourself, your healing, and your own light. 🌬️💎

in a patriarchal society, many women were taught to believe that femininity is tied to the length of our hair — that longer somehow means softer, prettier, or more womanly.

and although I love my long hair, cutting it made me feel free.🕊️

free from feeling like my femininity had to fit society’s definition of beauty instead of my own. because how i present myself does matter to me — not from a place of seeking validation, but from a place of self-expression, self-care, and feeling aligned in my mind, body, and spirit. i love feeling beautiful, grounded, feminine, and fully myself… and i’ve learned that energy doesn’t come from the length (or color) of my hair, it comes from within. femininity is an energy. (and hey, hair grows back🤷🏾‍♀️)

and listen - this short hair has been a blessing in some of this spring/summer heat, with hot flashes, and working over hot wax pots and steamers in my skincare studio. 😅😂

either way, i still feel soft. i still feel s*xy. i still feel deeply feminine.

this is your reminder that whether you wear your hair long, short, or in between — your energy is what people feel first. your confidence. your essence. your presence. not the length of your hair. so don’t forget to work on that also.

sis, wear your hair in the way that makes you feel the most free, the most aligned, and the most like yourself. that is the real glow. ✨

if this resonated with you, share it with another woman and join me for more conversations on self-love, healing, feminine energy, and aging vibrantly in mind, body, spirit, and skin💛✨

the older i get, the more mindful i become about what i watch, what i listen to, and the conversations i allow into my space.

on this journey, i’m learning my limitations. sometimes even one episode of “ratchet” reality tv can throw my energy off completely — so i choose not to entertain it. i’m learning to quickly disconnect from anything that drains me instead of pours into me.

the thing is, we are spiritual beings. we are energy. and whatever we consistently feed our minds — consciously or subconsciously — affects the way we feel, move, and vibrate.

negativity lowers our frequency and attracts more chaos, heaviness, and energy-draining experiences.

instead, choose the things that nourish your spirit:

books that expand you.
music that calms you.
conversations that uplift you.
people who inspire growth.

protect your peace. guard your energy. vibrate higher. 🌬️💎💛✨
