London, 2024.
Two years post surgery and feeling entirely at home in my skin.

Right before heading out for a performance, I decided to stage a little private photoshoot in my hotel room.

I’m back on my routine now, and hopefully by next year I’ll be back to my super curves.

Don’t get it twisted… I’m still rocking curves right now, but I’m chasing those super curves again! 😂

I had my vertical sleeve gastrectomy on January 26, 2022, and managing PCOS remains a challenge even after a little over four years.

However, when body dysmorphia hits, I put on the exact shirt I wore the day of my surgery. Seeing how far I've come instantly quiets those negative thoughts.

If you've had weight loss surgery, hold onto your day-one outfit. When your mind plays tricks on you, those clothes serve as a tangible reminder of your progress and help keep you anchored away from old habits.

Going keto means eating very low carbohydrates, moderate protein, and high healthy fats so your body switches from burning sugar to burning fat for fuel. This state is called Ketosis.

Here are some of the main reasons people choose it:

1. Faster Fat Loss

When carbs are very low, your body starts burning stored fat for energy. Many people notice:
• Faster initial weight loss
• Reduced belly fat
• Less water retention

2. Reduced Hunger

Fat and protein are very filling. On keto, people often:
• Feel full longer
• Snack less
• Naturally eat fewer calories

3. Better Mental Focus

When your brain runs on ketones instead of sugar, many people report:
• Clearer thinking
• Fewer energy crashes
• Better concentration

4. Better Blood Sugar Control

Because you eat very few carbs, keto can help stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels, which is why some people with Type 2 Diabetes use low-carb diets under medical supervision.

5. Steady Energy

Without constant sugar spikes and crashes, many people experience:
• More consistent energy throughout the day
• Less afternoon fatigue

Things to Know

Keto can also have downsides:
• The “keto flu” during the first week (headache, fatigue)
• It can be restrictive
• Some people miss fruit, grains, and higher-carb foods

Here are some ways to go keto!

I had a birthday last month and it was the greatest.

I took my first shot of Wegovy today and it wasn’t bad.

I took the left photo in 2023 and the other is current.

I’ve gained a little bit of weight (PCOS is still there), but I’m going to hold onto these curves as long as I can! ❤️

It’s been a bit, but I’m still here and feeling stronger! 💪🏾

I was taking care of my skin, using a product to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, and I started thinking about my journey….. 🤔

I’ve come a long way since my heavier days when my stretch marks would stretch so far they would start bleeding. 😣

I’m proud of how far I’ve come and I’m committed to continuing to take care of myself, knowing that every healthy choice brings me closer to my goals. 🥹

When you go back and look at old photos and think: How did I get to that point?! 😩
