In this recent study conducted by OncoLens to baseline and improve alignment of biomarker testing to guidelines, top barriers to biomarker testing were: 1) limited quantity of tissue available - 63% of respondents 2) reimbursement concerns including “potential cost to patient,” - 53% of respondents and 3) cumbersome process due to delays and long turnaround times for authorization, ordering, and/or delivery of results - 44% of respondents.
Liquid biopsy which can overcome some of these barriers was a low 4% of testing conducted and required more provider education/engagement. What barriers to do you see to faster market uptake of liquid biopsy?
