Did you know oppositional movement is not a disorder?
M-Bodied Therapy & Coaching are both grounded in the principles and practices of the mindful embodiment method Chi for Two.
Chi for Two, an advanced somatic therapy method and ISMETA-Approved Training Program, synthesizes many trauma healing modalities which draw from attachment theory, developmental movement, meditative arts, social justice and psychology, to name a few.
Child psychiatrist Janet Kestenberg, dance/movement therapist Susan Loman, and colleagues emphasized the importance of early developmental rhythms, including those called “fighting” rhythms that help us to explore autonomy and eventual individuation.
When these early relational rhythms can be supported, celebrated and channeled by caregivers, these developmental moves become part of our necessary movement vocabulary for presence, engagement, boundaries and connection throughout life.
Chi for Two trains practitioners in helping to invite emerging moves, particularly those that have become inhibited due to systemic, cultural and multi-generational patterning.
When new moves, like moves radiating from deep within the core—the pelvis—can be supported and validated by the trained somatic therapist, over time, one becomes more able to express, rather than inhibit, these important expressions that serve our journey in life.
