a few years ago when I was accepted into my teacher’s 500-hour program. i cried — not from sadness, but from relief. my previous teacher had retired years before, and i’d spent a long stretch feeling untethered, not even realizing how ungrounded I felt until that acceptance changed everything and i had a teacher again.
i know what it feels like to be on your own, finding your footing without someone or a lineage as a guiding light. Twenty some years of this practice myself and i’m still learning. Finding a deeper understanding every year.
that’s part of why our 200hr training works the way it does. at a certain point, i start handing you pieces of my real classes — a few poses here, a section there — with real students. by the end, you’re teaching a whole class yourself, with me right next to you the entire time.
and somewhere in there, everything you’ve been carrying about being seen comes up. it did for me too. that’s not a flaw in the process. that is the process.
training starts august 22. i keep it small on purpose — never more than 10, usually closer to 7 — because that’s the only way i can actually be there with you for the hard part.
if this has been sitting in the back of your mind, dm me or come find me after class. i’d love to talk about it.
