Dear Friends,

It’s been a little while since I’ve written here. Over the past months I’ve been thinking deeply about the relationship between our inner state and the quality of our lives — how the nervous system, breath, attention, and the pace of modern life all shape the way we experience ourselves and each other.

Two Free Online Breathwork Classes

As part of this ongoing exploration, I’m also offering two free online breathwork sessions over Zoom.

One of the things I continue to witness in this work is that breathwork does not have to be intense or dramatic to be transformational. Small shifts in breathing patterns can gently influence the nervous system, increase awareness, and create more room for presence, steadiness, and connection to the body.

During our time together, I will guide you through 3–4 simple practices focused on:

🌿 gentle nervous system regulating breathwork
🌿 engaging the belly and diaphragmatic breath
🌿 increasing awareness of your breathing patterns
🌿 developing a more grounded connection to your body and presence

The scaffold of safety is different for each of us. What matters is that we connect, through play and learning, with community that nourishes our own uniqueness. Then we ground ourselves in an intentional self connection with regularity. If some of these elements are missing, we pray for them to show up and we open ourselves with curious discernment to what does show up.

The Sri Yantra - a sacred rendering of the origins of life. Used as a devotional image for meditation, the center point can be entered and oneness, inter connectedness and the enormous creative power of love is experienced.

Away from the meditation cushion, woven gradually into the texture of ordinary life, this consciousness can tend the garden of my mind. It weeds out the repetitive invasive negative loops and fertilizes the high quality activity. Now when I observe the movement of my mind throughout the day, I notice not silence but many thoughts, an active mind, but it is active in ways that feel connected, creative, relational, and alive.

The end game is not intense transformative experiences, or the next event taking you to higher frequencies and altered states of consciousness, the multiple modality spiritual retreats. Yes, these experiences can be profound and exciting. But they aren’t serving you — or anyone else — if they can’t be grounded into your actual life.

The goal isn’t to grasp the altered state and hold on for dear life.

The goal is to move from an experience that opens your heart, shifts your perspective, and bring that awareness back home — into your relationships, your work, your house, your ordinary moments.

So you can see the beauty in all of it.

What happened to me? What are my repetitive thoughts? Can I step into the intelligent awareness part of myself and observe my moment by moment experience with out getting personally involved with it. Just noticing where the mind goes and becoming aware of all the colors that compose me. Know myself.
