The Georgia Hand & Upper Extremity Special Interest Group (GHUESIG) provides educational and networking opportunities for therapists to enhance their practice of rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. For over 20 years, we have served as a trusted resource for occupational therapists, physical therapists, certified occupational therapist assistants and physical therapist assistants. Our goal is to improve our members’ knowledge base for delivering care to patients with all conditions related to the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Call for nominations! The Board of Directors for the Georgia Hand and Upper Extremity Special Interest Group is now open! If you are currently an active member and interested in running for one of the following offices, submit your interest to [email protected] no later than October 20th, 2026.

Submissions must include a resume as well as a written position statement for the board role. Board positions include:
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
Social Media Communications Director

For additional information regarding the roles and responsibilities of each of these volunteer positions, email [email protected]. Each board member is elected for two year terms.

Timeline will occur as follows:
NOW through October 20th: Call for nominees
October 30th: Nominees announced and positions statements posted.
November 1st-15th: Elections open.
November 16th: Announcement of elected members.
November 16th-December 31st: Training of newly elected members.
January 1st: Newly elected officers begin their 2 year term.

A huge thank you to Dr. Jason M. Schon for presenting Adhesive Capsulitis: Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment with us tonight! His insightful talk gave us all a much deeper understanding of Frozen Shoulder and its clinical management. 🧠💪
