You're hosting a garden party and you want your lawn to look beautiful, but it's covered in weeds. You call your gardener and have them come mow the lawn the day before. It looks great for the day of, but then, like clockwork, two weeks later all the dandelions and other weeds have popped back up again. It worked as a quick fix, but it didn't get rid of the problem.
This is how I like to think about probiotics.
A lot of us feel very confident when we have a daily ritual of taking different supplements, but our bodies get used to what we use and can sometimes be a bit tricky, even when we're religiously taking probiotics.
If you use the same probiotics for months at a time, you are creating an environment for new and better strains of probiotics to grow and develop to push out the unhealthy bacteria....until you're not.
You've got to switch it up.
What do I suggest?
I recommend rotating 3 to 4 probiotics every 2 months.
It sounds daunting, but just buy 4 bottles at a time, store them in the freezer until ready for use, and put a reminder on your phone to switch every two months.
Make sure to let them defrost before starting to take them!
The goal is to keep planting new, healthy strains of probiotics.
