Weekly Pick Your Practice | This Week

Before you move into everything this week is asking of you, take a moment to check in with yourself.

Pause. Take a breath. Then choose the card that you’re naturally drawn to. No overthinking. No searching for the “right” one.

Your card may offer you something to reflect on, something to affirm, or a small practice to carry into your week. Whatever you choose, let it meet you where you are.

Consider this your weekly invitation to slow down long enough to hear yourself.

Which card did you pick?

Share your number below, save your card, and return to it throughout the week.

One pause. One practice. One week at a time.

Come outside. Pour into yourself.

Self-love doesn’t always have to look like a solo morning routine or a quiet night at home. Sometimes it looks like getting outside, sharing a meal, listening to good music, laughing with your people, having some real conversations, and making space to check in with yourself.

Join Half Hood Half Holistic for our Self Love Sunday Picnic on Sunday, August 30th.

We’re bringing the picnic bites, good music, real talk, and a little guided reflection. You bring yourself, your journal, your appetite, and maybe a friend.

No pressure to have it all figured out. Just come as you are.

Sunday, August 30 | 1–3 PM
Onondaga Lake Park | Liverpool, NY

Come outside. Slow down. Pour back into you.

September Tribe Check-In

Our September Tribe Check-In is moving to September 13th in observation of Labor Day weekend.

This month, we’re having a conversation that asks us to move beyond “I’m good” and make room for what’s really going on.

When “I’m Good” Ain’t Good Enough
An Honest Conversation About Su***de, Support & Staying

We’ll talk honestly about su***de, the signs we may miss, how to support someone who may be struggling, and what it can look like to stay connected when “I’m good” doesn’t tell the whole story.

This is a conversation about checking in, asking better questions, listening without judgment, and reminding one another that we don’t have to carry hard things alone.

We’re looking forward to being in conversation with our founder Rachel J., who will facilitate this important discussion. Rachel Johnson

Join us September 13th at 1:00 PM EST, virtually, for this month’s Tribe Check-In.

Register for this FREE check-in at halfhoodhalfholistic.com.

Come as you are. Bring your questions. Bring your honesty. Let’s check in for real.

Did you get this week’s email?

We’re officially in that in-between season. Summer is still here, but you can feel everything starting to shift. School schedules, fuller calendars, new routines, and that familiar pressure to get back into motion.

This week’s email is a reminder that you don’t have to rush the transition.

Inside, we shared a weekly prompt to help you think about what you’re leaving behind, what you’re carrying forward, and what actually deserves a place in your next season.

Because not everything needs to come with you.

Our weekly emails are a space to pause, reflect, and stay connected to what’s happening in the Half Hood Half Holistic community. Subscribers also get first access to events, opportunities, and announcements before they hit social.

If you’re not on the list yet, this is your invitation.

Join our email community through the link in our bio.

And remember: you are allowed to move at your own pace and still get where you’re going.

A little tea. A little laughter. A lot of love.

Some moments from It’s the Tea for Me at Black Girl Wellness Weekend.

There was something special about slowing down together. Sitting around a table, sharing conversation, celebrating ourselves, and making room for joy.

Thank you to Aromas Tea Bar Aromas Tea Bar for helping us create such a beautiful space to gather and celebrate.

Thank you to every woman who showed up, dressed up, brought a friend, came on her own, and made the afternoon meaningful.

And a special thank you to kait for capturing these moments so beautifully.

Weekly Pick Your Practice | A New Week

A new week, a new opportunity to check in with yourself.

Before you swipe, take a breath. Let yourself slow down long enough to notice which card you’re drawn to. Don’t overthink it. Choose the one that catches your attention and let that be your practice for the week.

Maybe you need an affirmation to carry with you. A journal prompt to sit with. A mindful moment to bring you back to the present. Or simply a reminder that you don’t have to do everything at once.

Whatever you choose, give yourself permission to actually practice it.

Which card did you pick this week? Tell us below.

Save your card and come back to it throughout the week. And as always, share it with someone who could use a little space to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

One pause. One practice. One week at a time.

Five weeks in, and one reminder still holds true: checking in with yourself is always time well spent.

Before you swipe, pause.

Take one deep breath and choose the card that catches your eye first. Let it become your practice for the week. It may offer an affirmation to hold onto, a journal prompt to explore, a mindful moment to ground you, or a simple invitation to care for yourself with intention.

There isn’t a perfect card. There is only the one that meets you where you are today.

Tell us which card you picked in the comments. We’d love to hear what resonated with you.

Save your card so you can return to it throughout the week, and share this post with someone who could use a gentle reminder to pause.

One practice. One pause. One intentional week at a time.
